🎦Meet the team behind the show – The Big Idea Works Loving the workshop in The Big Idea Works? That’s all thanks to Production Designer Ruby Hirst! When designing the set, she practised sustainability by making sure props were either reclaimed or second-hand and locally sourced. On working on The Big Idea Works, Ruby said: “One of my favourite parts of the job was sourcing and making new connections with local sellers and the general public. “All the wall units on the show were made using wood pallets that I picked up free from industrial estates. I then repurposed, up-cycled and decorated them into shelving for the workshop materials and tools. “We had a fantastic team of local crew. Together we showcased how much can be achieved with a small budget and brought to life a dead space that would have once been a hive of creativity for skilled craftsman.” The Big Idea Works is currently airing Monday to Thursday on BBC One at 2pm. 🎦Meet the team behind the show – The Big Idea Works Suzi Robinson is a Camera Operator and Shooting PD based in Northumberland. She has over 20 years of experience, working on shows such as Sunderland 'Til I Die (Netflix), GamesMaster (E4) and Piers Morgan: Uncensored (Sky News). On her time working on The Big Idea Works, Suzi said, “Filming The Big Idea Works was an incredible experience. As Camera Operator, I had the privilege of working alongside Simon Glass, Director of Photography, to film 15 episodes over seven weeks under a tight schedule. The production was demanding, requiring careful planning, quick thinking, and seamless collaboration at every turn. Together, we worked to capture the right coverage, ensuring each shot contributed to a compelling narrative and had visual appeal. "It was fantastic to work locally, and even more rewarding to collaborate with such a talented regional crew. With everyone bringing their ‘A’ game, we met the challenges of the brief and successfully delivered a high calibre production.
