👮 👮♀️ A new model of neighbourhood policing has been launched in Nottinghamshire, putting more officers in the right place at the right time to tackle community priorities and improve public trust and confidence. It means people across all 12 neighbourhood policing areas will see a consistent presence of bobbies on the beat, with resources safeguarded so they can be dedicated to working shoulder-to-shoulder with the community and being visible, accessible and familiar to people in their neighbourhoods. The roll-out by Nottinghamshire Police follows a pledge by Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Gary Godden earlier this year to enhance the capacity and effectiveness of neighbourhood policing teams across the city and county. https://lnkd.in/eW6CN8ZS

🗯️ Twenty-one-year-old Khushi Vyas asked Nottinghamshire Police’s Chief Constable about early intervention tactics used in schools to stop children engaging in antisocial behaviour. Khushi, a member of Nottinghamshire Youth Commission, was one of a number of people who had the chance to take part in the ‘Ask the Chief’ public section of Police and Crime Commissioner Gary Godden’s latest Accountability Board. Commissioner Godden holds the Accountability Board every two months as part of his responsibility to hold the force to account on behalf of the public. The public section of May’s Accountability Board will be on the subjects of ‘tackling hate crime and improving community cohesion’ and ‘the work of Nottinghamshire Police’s Prevention Hub’. If you would like to ‘Ask the Chief’ a question on either of those subjects at the next Accountability Board, email mediaopcc@notts.police.uk to find out how.

Twenty-year-old Reanne Jordan, a member of the Nottinghamshire Youth Commission, quizzed Nottinghamshire Police’s Chief Constable Kate Meynell on the issue, as this video shows. ✔️ Partnership efforts to tackle serious violence are having an impact – with violent knife crime falling by more than eight per cent across Nottinghamshire in the last year. 📊 The new performance figures are among a series of stats due to be presented to the Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Panel at Nottinghamshire County Council's County Hall on Monday 24 March – to update members on the progress being made under Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Gary Godden’s four-year plan for policing and public safety. 👨⚖️ They will also show that Nottinghamshire Police has one of the strongest positive outcome rates for crime in the country – meaning people who report crime in Nottinghamshire are more likely to see offenders brought to justice than in other parts of the country.
