Why don't I ever learn!? 🫣 So we are barely into April and I am sunburnt... No, I haven't been cooking on a sun bed in Lanzarote. This happened to me yesterday whilst watching the Brighton marathon. Granted... it was sunny and one of the warmest days of the year so far, but I never thought to need sun cream. I mean come on... it was only the 7th of April. Once again, I have underestimated the power of those UVs ☀️ (yes, please tell me off because it is foolish of me to think otherwise), and have suffered the consequences of an amusing tan line and a slightly sore face 🥵. If I just spent 60 seconds to apply my friend's sun cream then I would not like a drumstick lolly 🍭but more importantly, protected my skin. But I didn't think and more honestly, couldn't be bothered. 😕 And that got me thinking ... Do I do this in my work? 🤔 🤔🤔 Do I not apply proverbial sun cream 🧴to areas of my work life because I can't be bothered or don't think its needed? 💯... probably a few areas but the first thing that springs to mind is my housekeeping on the laptop. It is shocking. I realise that I didn't think this mattered that much and semi-couldn't be bothered to do anything about, but this is something that could easily be fixed by a couple of minutes of work per day. Not only will it look nice (like my tan lines ), but it will also prevent more serious consequences (like my skin) in the future. Lesson learnt?… Time spent on the little things will help with the big things. So here is a gentle reminder to ask yourself. Is there any 'sun cream' you need to apply in your work?
