This time Gina Wilkes, Head of Streetworks at Midland Plant Training and Testing let us know why they choose NPORS. “We use NPORS as they are a reputable, recognisable and fully accredited training scheme. As a training centre we find that the NPORS call centre and all their staff are always readily available for any questions we may have, and very helpful with their responses via email and telephone calls.  They’re also very informative of changes and updates within the scheme to benefit our trainers, testers and therefore our clients.” Thanks Gina.     Each month we recognise staff members whose performance exceeds one or more of the NPORS values and we are proud to say are part of our team. The only difficult decision on this month’s staff mention was which value to choose as Hannah, in the telephone customer service team at head office, ticks the box of so many.     World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on 10 October. This year’s theme set by the World Federation of Mental Health is workplace mental health. The theme highlights the importance of addressing mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, for the benefit of people, organisations, and communities. Mental health risks effect overall quality of life and consequently participation or productivity at work. People matter

    People with ADHD come across daily, people with - A complete lack of understanding. A complete lack of empathy. A complete lack of knowledge on ADHD. If diagnosed as an adult they’re told to grow up, to stop making excuses and to just get on with it. People don’t understand how crippling it can be and how it impacts every day life. It’s ADHD Awareness Month in October and ahead of mental health awareness day we thought the perfect time to post as this year it’s focus is the workplace. NPORS hire who they believe to be the best at what they do, some of which are neuro diverse and have ADHD. We strive to understand and support, what they describe as their superpower. We embrace the ups and downs and the dual nature of ADHD, where the same traits that can be challenging also bring unique strengths. #adhd #neurodiverse #neurodiversity #neurodivergent #adhdawareness #adhdawarenessmonth #peoplematter
