On Friday, Natasha Ballantine, Global General Counsel at Foundry was our special guest on the O Shaped and Browne Jacobson’s Bi-Monthly Teams meeting for our In-House Paralegal, Apprenticeship and Trainee Community. Claire Stripp of Browne Jacobson asked the questions and Natasha shared her fascinating career story from a background in banking and asset finance at top-tier US and City law firms to a career in house starting at a major investment bank before moving to Foundry where she was recently promoted from Deputy to General Counsel. Natasha’s openness, including her sharing her own vulnerabilities and challenges she faced throughout her career, made the audience of 35 trainees, paralegals and apprentices feel at ease and led to some great questions and reflections. The Q&As at these sessions are aways so useful for others to learn from. Our In-House Paralegal, Apprenticeship and Trainee Community is growing. If you would like to join the calls, meet peers and share stories with people in similar positions at a range of in-house teams, please email emma@oshaped.com and we will invite you to the next call which will be on Friday 6th December at 12-1. Another day and another major sports stadium! This time Dan was at The Molyneux, home of Premier League football team Wolverhampton Wanderers, for the Browne Jacobson Corporates team away day. Dan joined a panel including Corporates Board Chair Anneliese Reinhold and Real Estate partner Sarah Parkinson in a session moderated by Corporates Co-Head, Declan Cushley. They discussed their experiences of their leadership programme led by O Shaped last week and attended by 20 senior leaders at key client companies along with several Browne Jacobson partners. More on that leadership programme to follow! Next stop Wembley, San Siro or MCG……maybe. Thanks as ever to our wonderful partners Browne Jacobson for your support and first class hospitality. On Friday Dan Kayne moderated a panel with Daniel Smith and Amelia Stirling at The Lawyer Marketing and Business Development Conference on psychological safety in the legal sector. It’s clear that there is increasingly more awareness and understanding of the importance of psychological safety across the legal sector which can only be a good thing. Well done again to Ellie Riche and Lucy Floyd at The Lawyer for another great event! #bemoreO #oshaped #peoplefirst
