**New SPI Publication** SPI conducted a study for Cinespace Studios and The Fields Studios to evaluate the potential economic impact of an expanded Illinois Film and Television Production Tax Credit incentive. The study presents projections of Illinois production investment and impact under the existing incentive, and in relation to proposed improvements to the base credit and a new studio uplift modelled to take place from FY2026 This study builds on a previous report by SPI for the Illinois Production Alliance (IPA), which found that further industry growth could be achieved through targeted improvements to the tax credit. Olsberg•SPI reposted this
Yesterday, I had the privilege of delivering a keynote at the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2025 during the “Taming the Tiger: Harnessing AI for Film” afternoon. I shared Olsberg•SPI insights on how the UK is approaching AI, through investment, research, and consultation. A big thank you to Sten Saluveer, Wonsun Shin, Kirsty van der Plas, Marten Rabarts, and the rest of the International Film Festival Rotterdam team for inviting me and hosting such an inspiring event. I’d also like to extend my gratitude to my fellow panellists, Matthew Blakemore, Anna Giralt Gris and Jorge Caballero (PhD) for their engaging contributions. Looking forward to the continued conversation on how AI is transforming the film industry. #IFFR25 #AI
