An Insightful Day Visiting One Black Bear & Birmingham Design 🎨 Today, I had the fantastic opportunity to visit two top-tier Birmingham-based creative studios, One Black Bear and Birmingham Design. Here’s what I learned about breaking into the industry! At One Black Bear, Jon Harrison and Rich Elwell emphasized how crucial it is to showcase original thinking in such a competitive industry. The advertising world thrives on memorable ideas, so it’s important to demonstrate how you can think differently. They also highlighted the value of building connections early and developing essential soft skills like enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, alongside maintaining a professional and well-curated portfolio. At Birmingham Design, Luke Tonge shared practical advice on authentic networking and the importance of engaging with the local design community. He emphasized that you have control over your career path, and the people you connect with will greatly influence it. He also stressed that some of the most rewarding work—paid or unpaid—can lead to the attention you need and open doors. Overall, it was an insightful day, and I’m excited to apply these lessons as I continue my journey in the creative industry!

The M6toll (Birmingham, UK) recently launched a creative communication campaign, Breeze, to promote a new program aimed at building customer loyalty and attracting new travelers. Breeze members enjoy unique benefits such as exclusive discounts, license plate recognition and the use of exclusive lanes at the main toll plazas. The Breeze campaign is using an omnichannel approach focused on target audiences that includes a mix of digital (social media, audio/podcast ads, geo-targeted campaigns and out-of-home strategies (billboards on roads, at gas pumps, etc.). Our goal is to encourage customers to join Breeze and acquire the benefits of a superior travel experience. Data collection and analysis has played a crucial role in understanding customer behavior and preferences for this program. Thus far, the use of personalized accounts for toll payment has increased by nearly 20% and we hope to reach 32% by the end of this year. We will be monitoring progress and are pleased to be continually offering new, value-added services to those who travel on Aleatica operated transportation infrastructure. #Mobility #CustomerExperience
