Recent marketing moments we've loved 😍 The past few weeks have been packed with creativity from brands and organisations alike, tackling important issues and tapping into viral trends, so they've been hard to ignore... here's some of favourites: #1 Shelter x IKEA - Exposing Child Homelessness In collaboration with Shelter, IKEA unveiled a disturbing doll’s house illustrating the harsh reality of child homelessness in the UK. A thought-provoking campaign designed to raise awareness for thousands of children living in unsafe conditions. #2 Fenty Beauty at Selfridges - ‘Mane Street’ Rihanna’s Fenty Hair took over Selfridges with an interactive ‘Mane Street’ installation, allowing visitors to explore the brand's bold, playful spirit firsthand. A perfect blend of retail and experiential marketing. #3 IKEA - Sleepfluencers IKEA turned its windows into live bedrooms, where influencers (or "Sleepfluencers") slept in-store, showcasing their iconic furniture while grabbing attention both online and offline. A cozy and immersive activation blending real-world and social media marketing. #4 Killed Women (KW) - Black and Blue Plaques Killed Women attached black and blue plaques to properties where women were tragically murdered in domestic violence incidents. The campaign calls for changes to outdated UK homicide sentencing laws. #5 La Vieille Ferme - The Chicken Wine The beloved French wine brand embraced its viral nickname ‘The Chicken Wine’ with a limited edition rebrand. As a nod to its fanbase, bottles of ‘The Chicken Wine’ are now available at Sainsbury’s, bringing the playful moniker to life. This could shift how you think about marketing to Gen X. 🎯 Recently, our partners at Beatfreeks uncovered some key insights into Gen X’s digital behaviour, from research by Deloitte and Media Culture, and while often seen as “hard-to-reach,” Gen X makes up a large portion of global internet users and shouldn't be overlooked. ⬇️ Here’s what we’ve learned: Over 75% of Gen X households subscribe to at least one streaming service, preferring quality content on platforms like Netflix and Hulu, and a significant portion actively pays for streaming services, showing their consistent engagement with digital media. Nearly 2 hours a day are spent on platforms like Facebook, with 49% of Gen X using it to stay informed and maintain meaningful connections - similar to their millennial counterparts. Gen X seeks out purposeful engagement, driven by staying up to date with news and relevant conversations. This means purposeful, targeted content is essential. To reach Gen X, you need to meet them where they’re already spending their time - on streaming platforms and in social spaces where they seek value. 💡 Stay tuned for more insights from Beatfreeks or contact us at beatfreeks@lunar.agency to explore how we can help your brand connect with this influential audience. #LunarAgency #GenerationX #Insights
