People at Community Lives Wokingham had an enjoyable time preparing delicious chicken and veg kebabs. The courgettes and marrows used in the recipe, were freshly harvested from our gardens at Growing Places and the Acorn Centre, and lovingly grown and cared for by the group. Everyone enjoyed cooking the meal together, and the end result was a hit - both tasty and nutritious.

We were delighted to welcome Care Minister, Stephen Kinnock MP, to Loddon Court, our Short Breaks service. During a tour, he was joined by people who access Loddon Court and their family members, to find out what the service offers. He spoke to people about what matters to them and how good support enables them to lead the lives they want to live. This year’s Big Gathering saw people come together to celebrate a successful first year of Social Care Future in Wokingham Borough 🎉 The movement is all about giving people who use our adult social care services the opportunity to get involved in helping shape and improve the local offer ❤ It’s been a great year with lots of successes, including adopting a new charter, hosting events and activities for people to share their ideas and seeing some of these rolled out like the new Residents’ Reception service and changes to disabled bus pass restrictions 👍 Find out more about what's been achieved by working together and how you can get involved here 👉 https://lnkd.in/e4H3WbK2

Some of our Finance Management Team recently volunteered at Bluebell Care home in Wokingham 🤝 The beautiful garden needed a bit of love and care before autumn sets in and the team worked hard to clear up an allotment and tree debris 👨🌾 They also sorted out some overgrown borders and made a raised bed look lovely again ✅ We purchased Bluebell House in September 2023 and have made significant improvements to the care home, working our partners Optalis ❤️

We had a wonderful time celebrating Harvest Festival at Bluebell House. Our tables were beautifully decorated with fresh fruits and vegetables, and we enjoyed delicious veggie-based meals and homemade bread, freshly prepared by our talented Chef Simon. Food collected for the Harvest Festival was donated to our local church, Norris Church. #HarvestFestival #CommunitySpirit #BluebellHouse
