This week the Orbex Team attended Space-Comm Expo in London. We had an incredible time showcasing our innovative space launch technology and sharing more about our orbital launch services. We also enjoyed discussing more about satellite launches direct from the UK and shaping the future of sustainable access to space. Over the past two weeks, the Orbex Team has been on the road, completing our European Launcher Challenge (ELC) Information Days! ✈️ The European Space Agency - ESA is preparing to issue an Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the ELC—a once-in-a-generation opportunity to develop a new European Launch Service. This will be key to ESA and the European Commission (EC) in providing globally competitive, autonomous access to space. To make this vision a reality, we’ve been meeting with potential partners and suppliers in Berne, Harwell, Prague, Brussels, Copenhagen, and Glasgow —building a European coalition to take on this challenge together. Today the UK Space Agency announced a dramatic increase in the money flowing to the UK from European Space Agency - ESA programmes, with an additional £112 million (€134 million) in contracts secured for the UK space sector between June 2022 and December 2024. Orbex is delighted to have benefited from part of this funding, helping us move towards the inaugural launch of Prime and continue to support over 200 highly skilled aerospace jobs. It's International Women's Day! 🌟 Today, we celebrate the contributions of women across the Orbex team including those working in: Avionics, Structures, Propulsion, Software, Systems, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Manufacturing, Executive, Community Liaison, Recruitment, HR, Health & Safety, and Quality. Last year we formed a group dedicated to the Women of Orbex, it's a network for all the women that work at Orbex to meet and share experiences and information, to celebrate the achievements of women on the team, to involve women in activities to inspire the younger generation plus much more. This week, Phillip Chambers, CEO and Jesus SAN JUAN, Head of Structures visited JEC World 2025 in Paris, the leading global event for the composites industry! Our supplier Syensqo showcased some of our cutting-edge carbon fibre components, highlighting the innovative materials that are used to make the Orbex Prime structures and tanks.🚀 We've been collaborating with Syensqo on the integration of their advanced adhesive, composite and specialty polymer materials into our launch vehicles to drive advancements in the performance, durability and sustainability of orbital launch systems.
