Emma Doughty, Slater and Gordon’s head of medical negligence, said of the partnership: “We are proud to be partnering with Orchid in supporting men who have been diagnosed with cancer. The work Orchid does in supporting men with a cancer diagnosis is remarkable, and we are incredibly proud to offer our legal services to any of their members who may be in need of legal advice.” Thank you Slater and Gordon and we look forward to working together in the coming year! 🔗 https://loom.ly/kqvxO6I #corporatepartnership #healthandwellbeing

Possibly not the average pictures you expect to see on LinkedIn on a Friday morning, but hopefully they’ll make you smile and curious to find out what it was all about! Yesterday was due to be Orchid Cancer’s annual ‘Willy Waddle’, whereby a collection of fun loving individuals were to gather at the Olympic Park ready to donn large inflatable penis costumes and ‘waddle’ (believe me, you can’t do much else in this costume!), 2km around this iconic location, in the spirit of raising funds and awareness for male cancer - prostate, testicular and penile cancer. Sadly the event had to be cancelled last minute due to covid within the small organising team. Having already secured some kind donations, it felt only right to take on the challenge in a virtual manner to honour the generosity of those who had shown support. So my fun loving Chelsea Pensioner friend, 81 year old Nick (who had signed up to do the challenge with me!) and I donned our costumes and waddled around the Royal Hospital Chelsea instead as ‘Nick the Prick’ and ‘Sally the Scrotum’! The range of comments we got are not suitable to repeat on this platform, but the looks and smiles on people’s faces were priceless and to bump into a group of Hells Angels, was the icing on the cake. The more serious part behind this post though, is the number of gentlemen we met, who told me that they had been diagnosed with one of the 3 cancers mentioned above. As well as having fun, putting smiles on faces and raising some cash, it served as a great opportunity to get those who we met to check themselves on a regular basis. Have you ever made a dick of yourself to raise money for a good cause? 🤣🤣

📢 It's #SexualHealthWeek, and ERN eUROGEN is here to raise awareness about the link between #HPV and #PenileCancer. Did you know that the human papillomavirus (HPV) can increase the risk of developing penile cancer? And did you know that early symptoms of penile cancer, like sores, redness, or discharge, can often be mistaken for symptoms of an STI? This can lead to delays in diagnosis and treatment. If you notice anything unusual, don't "ignore it"—talk to a healthcare professional! Early detection is crucial and leads to better outcomes. 💡✅ Together, let's break the silence! 💙 [Video funded by the European Union and produced in association with Orchid Cancer and the European Association of Urology ] #SexualHealthMatters #RareDiseases #Urology #EarlyDetection #ERNeUROGEN #PreventionIsKey #HPVAwareness

LDN RIDERS just raised over £5,000 to help fight male cancers! 38 of us cycled from London to Manchester across three days to raise funds for Orchid Cancer. The 360km journey, which included a day of cycling across the Peak District in 40 km p/hr headwinds, had its challenges, but it was so much fun! So proud of everyone who took part. Special thanks to our amazing ride captains who helped organise the trip. #orchidcancer #charity #fundraising #charityride
