🎙𝗟𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 | A single source of truth In our penultimate episode, we ask Landsec’s Alexia Laird the big question: What’s the one change that could drive a lower carbon future? Her answer? A simple, unified source of data. By aligning cost plans, BIM models, and low carbon strategies, we can shift focus to what truly matters—minimisation and supply chain research. Could AI be the key to this transformation? 📺 Watch the full conversation: https://lnkd.in/e7u8ffNP 🎧Listen on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eJBFq-HU #Sustainability #LowCarbonConversation #FitOut #podcast

🎙𝗟𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 | Starting conversations earlier In this episode, Zoë Glander, Anja Schellenbauer, and Alexia Laird discuss the practical realities of the dilapidations clause, which traditionally requires tenants to return a space to Cat A at the end of their lease. While this might be the official line, the reality is quite different. Instead of forcing the Cat A reset, many tenants opt for a simpler solution—leaving the fit-out as it is and paying a small fee for the landlord to manage the space. This approach is more efficient and sustainable, reducing waste and ensuring materials are handled by those better equipped. 📺 Watch the full conversation: https://lnkd.in/e7u8ffNP 🎧Listen on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eJBFq-HU John Robertson Architects Landsec #Sustainability #LowCarbonConversation #FitOut #BuildingDesign #Dilapidations

We were pleased to welcome Bella Tam as a construction intern this summer as part of the Leonard Cheshire Change 100 programme, which aims to remove barriers experienced by people with disabilities in the workplace, to allow them to achieve their potential. Over the past three months, Bella undertook a diverse range of work over two projects, from assisting with environmental audits and managing material samples, to liaising with subcontractors and supporting site visits. She spent her final week at Morgan Lovell working alongside the technical design team, applying changes to coordinated technical drawings in AutoCAD. We are grateful for Bella’s contributions and her enthusiasm for learning. She displayed great adaptability and curiosity throughout her time with us, and we wish her every success in her future endeavours. Thanks to our team who supported Bella during her time with us: Chris Dunne, Dave Martin, Ashley Bowdery, Kirsty Wright, Shaban Ladha, Sean Sibthorpe, Chelsie Ratcliffe-Cull, Tim Kirkman #inclusiveworkplace #talent #people

Not even 40+ mph winds could stop our team from conquering the Skiddaw 7 Challenge in the Lake District, raising over £11k for Just4Children and #StepWithKyra. Our group tackled seven peaks, climbing 4,100 feet across 14 miles in a commendable time of 8.5 hours, despite various aches, pains, and some very tired limbs! 🎙𝗟𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 | Rethinking Cat A Fit Out In our latest episode, Zoë Glander and Anja Schellenbauer from John Robertson Architects discuss the long-standing frustration with Cat A fit outs - where elements, like ceiling panels, often become obsolete before the tenant even moves in. It's a wasteful practice that’s finally being challenged. Anja highlights how shifting to shell and core or shell and floor solutions, which skip unnecessary ceilings, can significantly reduce waste and make spaces more adaptable for tenants. Raised access floors, for example, offer flexibility, but it’s time to rethink those ceilings. 📺 Watch the full conversation: https://lnkd.in/e7u8ffNP Listen on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eJBFq-HU #Sustainability #LowCarbonConversation #FitOut #BuildingDesign #EnvironmentalImpact

Last week, we hosted our first Northern Sustainability Networking event in Manchester – and it was a huge success! Over 60 people came along for a relaxed evening full of great conversations about all things sustainability. The event, in what we hope will be the first of many, aims to bring together people who are passionate about making a positive environmental impact. We want this network to grow and evolve, so we asked everyone for their ideas on what the network could become, how often we should meet and what topics to focus on. We’re now setting up a steering group to help guide the future of the network, and we’re excited to see where it goes from here! Thank you to all the companies with representatives: JLL The Manchester Metropolitan University Ramboll Lancaster University Sheppard Robson Cundall AXA Verte Gardiner & Theobald LLP HOARE LEA UK LIMITED Element Sustainability Ltd UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) BDP (Building Design Partnership Ltd) Arup A big thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a brilliant start, we can’t wait for the next one! #Sustainability #Networking #Overbury #Community #Manchester

Take a look at Julius Baer's new sophisticated office space in Farringdon, London. This intricate project spanned just over 27,000 sq ft across six floors and showcased elements of the building's façade in its interior design, earning it the nickname "Windows of the Past". A significant part of the project involved unveiling the building's core structure and exposed services to give it that industrial feel.
