Yesterday we were part of the Vision Zero Road Safety event in Oxford. During this education event, Thames Valley Police stopped cyclists riding without lights, reminded them of the law and the importance of being visible to other road users. Their bikes were then fitted with a temporary set of bike lights by Oxfordshire County Council Fire & Rescue Service. Andy Ford, Road Safety Manager at Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, said 'In just two hours of the operation, Thames Valley Police stopped 203 cyclists riding without lights. At this time of the year, it's more important than ever to make sure that, however you travel, you do all you can to make yourself visible to all other road users.' Tomorrow is back to school after half term and with the clocks having changed, your walk to and from school may be duller and darker. Make sure that you and your children can be seen by other road users by wearing something high visibility or brightly coloured. Look at the difference it makes to spotting the child waiting to cross the road in this picture. Be Bright Be Seen. #Pedestrians #ShareTheRoad #BeBrightBeSeen
