M&A Insights H1 2024: The Recovery Continues - Extremely interesting tool along with an assessment of the current climate gathered by the Boston Consulting Group. "Where is the M&A market heading? For the first time, decision makers in corporations, private equity firms, and investment banks have access to a quantified and statistically reliable answer. The source is BCG’s M&A Sentiment Index. This newly launched index provides a monthly update on dealmakers' willingness to engage in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures over roughly the next six months. Its interactive features allow dealmakers to view sentiment globally and across individual regions and sectors." https://lnkd.in/ertfiXhf #mergersandacquisitions #sentiment #tools #insights Boston Consulting Group (BCG)

How BlackRock’s Preqin Deal Will ‘Transform’ the World’s Biggest Asset Manager - BlackRock, which manages more than $10 trillion, is seeking to capitalise on a boom in demand from investors for alternative assets, which includes anything from private equity to infrastructure. "BlackRock’s vision has always been to bring together investments, technology, and data to offer solutions that meet our clients’ needs across their whole portfolio. As clients increasingly evolve their focus from choosing products to constructing portfolios, this shift requires technology, data, and analytics that create a ‘common language’ for investing across both public and private markets. We see data powering the industry across technology, capital formation, investing, and risk management,” Robert Goldstein, chief operating officer of BlackRock, said in a statement. The news is everywhere but we particularly liked this angle from Institutional Investor. Enhancing the synergistic approach on steroids! https://lnkd.in/gkxMgktv #blackrock #prequin #mergersandacquisitions #data #analytics BlackRock Institutional Investor

Payment fintechs see Q1 uptick in buyouts - An interesting analysis from Pitchbook on this specific SaaS acquisition trend. There were 16 US and Canadian fintech buyout deals in Q1—compared to 11 deals in the same period last year—with 38% of the deals falling under the enterprise payments sector. “We believe that payments companies are likely fetching premium multiples because payments businesses have a natural embedded inflation hedge,” said James Ulan, PitchBook’s emerging technology lead analyst. https://lnkd.in/eNJN9NZm #buyouts #saas #payments PitchBook

Corporate buyers lead the way on software deals. A snapshot from Pitchbook on a trend we've been witnessing in our travels as well. “We’re expecting a steady increase throughout the summer and into fall. It depends how closely the bid-ask spread continues to narrow as investors continue to get comfortable with the current interest rate environment and build investment theses and value creation plans to support the higher valuations.” - Kevin Desai, PwC partner and US PE lead. https://lnkd.in/g2fKWhhY #mergersandacquisitions #corporates #saas PitchBook PwC
