Today, Thursday 01 August, we recognise Earth Overshoot Day – a stark wake-up and vital call to action for everyone. This is the day when humanity’s demand for ecological resources exceeds what our planet can regenerate in a year. From now until the end of the year, we are in an ecological debt, depleting our natural reserves and increasing our carbon footprint. At PACT, we’re passionate about reducing this ecological deficit by harnessing the power of byproducts and transforming natural collagen into beautiful, high-performing biomaterials. By using this nutrient-rich excess as a resource, we aim to minimise the environmental footprint across the entire material production process. But our work goes beyond creating elegant, responsible materials that help our partners to decarbonise.
