  • Next in our #MeetTheNurses series is Lisa! Lisa has worked in a variety of settings including on a gastroenterology ward, intensive care unit, and as a research nurse running clinical trials. She has worked for over a decade as a specialist nurse looking after patients with pancreatic and liver cancer in a specialist centre in London. Her main focus has been providing care and support for patients having surgery as an NHS nurse. She has been a specialist nurse here at Pancreatic Cancer UK for over five years, providing care and support for people affected by pancreatic cancer and their loved ones. 💜 Fun fact: Lisa enjoyed walking to the Mount Everest base camp as part of a medical research expedition looking to use the oxygen-thin air to provide insights into how to improve survival rates and recovery for people in intensive care long-term! ⛰️ If you or someone you love has been affected by pancreatic cancer, we are here for you. • A proactive response is needed from the Government to end PERT shortages across the UK. Without PERT, people with pancreatic cancer have poor quality of life and are at risk of starvation. In February, we held an emergency PERT Shortages event in Westminster. Now, we want you to help us build on this momentum by asking your MP to sign our open letter to the Department for Health and Social Care, calling for greater action to end the ongoing shortages: https://bit.ly/4ivzytN
