It's only one week to go until November and #PancreaticCancerAwarenessMonth! As so many people who are affected by this devastating disease know, pancreatic cancer is often diagnosed late, and it advances quickly. So it’s crucial that we make more noise, raising awareness of the signs and symptoms. With that in mind, we've put together some resources that you can download to help spread the word this November, including social media images like this one, Zoom backgrounds, symptoms posters and more. Click here to take a look and get your downloads ready: https://bit.ly/3AdwrGk

Research shows that we may be able to detect changes to the pancreas at a really early stage – potentially as many as ten years before they become a tumour. The earlier we can detect pancreatic cancer, the more likely people are to be able to benefit from treatments that could improve their chances of survival and give them more time with their loved ones. 💜 Thanks to your support, Dr Beatriz Salvador and her team at Cardiff University are investigating these early cell mutations and how they progress into a tumour. These findings could be used to detect pancreatic cancer earlier than we ever have before, but we need your support to keep this momentum going. 🔬 Donate now to help fund the next 7 months of early detection research: https://bit.ly/40dAQnr

🤔 Did you know…? Radiotherapy uses radiation to destroy cancer cells. A machine directs beams of radiation at the cancer from outside the body. Radiographers use scans to make sure the radiation is going to exactly the right place. Radiotherapy is used in different ways for people with pancreatic cancer. It’s often combined with chemotherapy to help shrink the cancer or slow down its growth. People with advanced pancreatic cancer sometimes have radiotherapy to control pain. Download our fact sheet to find out more about radiotherapy for people with pancreatic cancer: https://bit.ly/3MEzvPu

The new Parliament means new opportunities to make pancreatic cancer a priority. This Autumn, many MPs attended their party’s conference, and we couldn’t miss this opportunity ask them to support people with pancreatic cancer. We were delighted that over 100 MPs visited our exhibition stand to find out how they can drive change for people with pancreatic cancer. We are excited to share that The Real Greek restaurants will once again be supporting us this November to mark Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout the month they are asking guests to add £1 onto their bill to help us raise vital funds. 💜 This November, we are asking workplaces of all sizes to come together and support us across the UK. Whether its walking 30 miles, dressing in purple every day or holding a bake sale on World Pancreatic Cancer Day (who doesn’t love a bake sale at work?) – your support will help us give more than hope to people across the UK affected by pancreatic cancer. We will be with you every step of the way and can provide ideas, support and free fundraising materials to get you on your way. So why not get in touch today? Email amy@pancreaticcancer.org.uk or give us a call on 07970 994392 📲
