On International Women’s Day, we are looking at the work of the Women in Safe Homes fund – the social impact investment fund we launched with Resonance Limited. Safe, secure housing is vital for women escaping domestic abuse, but what happens when their needs go beyond immediate refuge? The Women in Safe Homes fund is working with housing partners like Refuge to provide not just emergency shelter but longer-term, stable housing that supports survivors on their journey to independence. With access to secure homes and specialist support, survivors can rebuild their lives. Learn more at our website. With International Women’s Day coming up, we are highlighting the critical importance of providing safe homes for women escaping domestic abuse. The Women in Safes Homes fund, which we launched in partnership with Resonance Limited, works with housing partners like Cyrenians to provide vulnerable women with safe, secure homes, as well as access to specialist support to help them take control of their lives. Hana is one of Cyrenians’ tenants, who turned to the charity as she attempted to escape her abusive partner, with her two children. You can read Hana’s story at our website. This Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week, we are shining a light on housing as a way of supporting survivors of domestic abuse. Women fleeing violence often have nowhere to go, leaving them vulnerable to homelessness, poverty, or being forced back into unsafe situations. The Women in Safe Homes fund, which we launched with Resonance Limited, ensures that survivors have access to secure, affordable housing and specialist support services, giving them the stability they need to heal and regain independence. In the past year alone, the fund has expanded to 111 properties, housing 460 women and children — a vital step in breaking the cycle of abuse. #ItsNotOK #SASVAW2025 #WomenInSafeHomes https://lnkd.in/eaEjW_kS

International Women’s Day is this Saturday, and we want to shine a light on the work of the Women in Safe Homes fund. Domestic abuse continues to be rife within our society: one in four women experienced domestic abuse in 2023, with 70% of domestic abuse survivors in need of housing. Still, 62% of women were turned away at first referrals to refuges because the services were unable to meet their needs. The Women in Safes Homes fund works to try and tackle these issues. The fund, which we launched with Resonance Limited, works with expert housing partners and women’s sector organisations to provide safe, stable housing for women and children who need it. So far, the fund has housed 450 women and children. One of the women we have housed is Elsa. You can read her story at our website.
