Today is National Stress Awareness Day! This is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of stress on individuals’ physical and mental wellbeing. This years theme is all about reducing stress and improving wellbeing and at A P Robinson we're proud to support this. So how can we reduce stress and improve wellbeing? Here are some tips from us: - Get active and exercise - Talk to someone about your problems and what is causing the stress - Spend time with friends and family - Make sure you get plenty of sleep - Take time to relax and focus on yourself To support our teams wellbeing we have a Mental Health First Aider team who are trained to provide support and ensure no one faces mental health challenges alone. Additionally, we have a designated Wellbeing Room for those moments when a bit of personal time is needed, and a Social Room to strengthen our teams bond. How do you reduce stress? Let us know in the comments! #StressAwarenessDay #Stress #Wellbeing

Chancellor Rachel Reeves pledged to ‘invest, invest, invest’ to drive growth and ‘restore economic stability’ in the Autumn Budget. The Budget, which was Labour’s first in over 14 years and the first ever delivered by a female Chancellor, saw £40 billion in tax announcements. Ms Reeves repeated her claims that the government had inherited a £22 billion ‘black hole’ in the public finances from the Conservative Party. Pre-Budget speculation had centred on the likelihood of increases to employers’ National Insurance contributions (NICs), Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and Inheritance Tax (IHT). Read more about these announcements, the economic picture, the political reaction and the business reaction in our new article below: https://hubs.la/Q02WqBSr0

New government announcement about apprenticeships! The government has announced an overhaul of the UK's apprenticeship system. A new growth and skills levy will replace the existing apprenticeship levy and include new foundations apprenticeships. The government says these new apprenticeships will give young people a route into careers in critical sectors, enabling them to earn a wage whilst developing vital skills. The new levy will also allow funding for shorter apprenticeships, giving learners and employers greater flexibility over their training than under the existing system - where apprenticeships must run for at least 12 months. The government adds that the training eligible for funding under the new levy will develop over time, informed by Skills England's assessment of priority skills needs. The department for Education will set out further details on the scope of the offer and how it will be accessed in due course. Alex Veitch, Director of Policy at the British Chambers of Commerce, said: 'Skills shortages continue to be a major concern for businesses and a drag on economic growth. ‘the proposed new Growth and Skills Levy was a key part of the government’s plans at the election. It is welcome ministers have acted early to give more details about skills reform. ‘We’ve long argued that the current Apprenticeship Levy needs urgent reform to make it more flexible. Businesses need a simple, coherent, and responsive system that properly incentivises employer investment in training.' #APRobinson #Apprenticeships #Government
