On World Mental Health Day, PeacePlayers Northern Ireland is highlighting the importance of mental health in the workplace. This year’s theme, ‘Workplace Mental Health,’ reminds us how vital it is to support mental well-being not only for individuals but for the overall strength of our organisations and communities. With many of us spending much of our time at work—whether in the community, office, home or elsewhere—creating a positive environment matters. At PeacePlayers Northern Ireland, one of our seven Culture Statements is, 'We value and look after our staff.' We are committed to fostering a culture that prioritises mental health, ensuring a healthy and supportive space for everyone in our network. #WorldMentalHealthDay #WorkplaceMentalHealth #PeacePlayers #MentalHealthMatters

Children who play together can learn to live together
About us
PeacePlayers - Northern Ireland is a leader of ‘Sport for Peace’ • We believe that ‘children who play together can learn to live together.’ • We use sport, the neutral sport of basketball specifically, to unite, educate and inspire Catholic and Protestant children and young people, two historically divided traditions in Northern Ireland. Our Vision is of inspired and confident children and young people building positive relationships and promoting sustainable peace in Northern Ireland. Our Mission is to use sport to create opportunities for young leaders to promote respect and mutual understanding between the historically divided community of Northern Ireland. We have a strong track record of success • Since its foundation in 2002, PPI-NI has positively impacted the lives of over 20,000 young people, serving the most disadvantaged areas in Northern Ireland. • We have cemented our reputation as the go-to organisation for community relations and peace building through sport. • As a global organisation, our success goes beyond our borders – bridging divides, changing perceptions and developing leaders in some of the world’s most challenging conflict areas.

Last week our good friend Dr Tony Macaulay was over visiting our friends from DePauw University in Indiana! We already can’t wait for the next group of students to be joining us in May for the 14th year of partnership and collaboration
For over 10 years I’ve met with many students from DePauw University during their visits to Northern Ireland for an international service partnership with PeacePlayers - Northern Ireland I’m excited to be visiting Depauw for a few days. I’ll be speaking to different classes on creative writing, world literature and international service and tonight I’m giving a book reading from Paperboy, Belfast Gate and Kill the Devil in the University Arts Center
