Last week, Pennant had the pleasure of supporting a local STEM event and firework display by exhibiting in the STEM hangar at the Aston Down Fireworks, hosted by the Cotswold Gliding Club. The event featured a spectacular fireworks display, including a pyrotechnic air show, and the STEM Zone, where multiple local and national companies offered free activities for attendees. The Pennant Generic Fastener Installation Trainer (GFIT) made an appearance and was a real hit with bright sparks of all ages, especially children and young people eager to learn wire locking. Tom Blacker, our Pennant representative, said: “Watching young minds light up with curiosity and excitement was truly rewarding.” We had a blast🎇Thank you to all who visited us at the event! We had an exciting day recently when Pennant’s Stephen Godwin was featured on NBN News Australia for a TV and radio interview! He discussed the new Aeroskills Engagement Programme (AEP), for regional workforce development, through the New South Wales Department of Education. This course aims to attract and inspire students to pursue careers in aviation, to address the skills gap. The AEP is not just about bridging the skills gap though. It is about developing new talent, supporting regional development, and ensuring the sustainability of the future aviation industry. Pennant is incredibly proud to have played a part in developing this course, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills using our training devices, such as GenSkill. 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞. On August 22nd, four colleagues from our Melbourne team lent a helping hand to FORaMEAL (a project by the Rotary Club of Canterbury). FORaMEAL provides emergency meals to those affected by natural and other disasters. Each year, they distribute meals free of charge to vulnerable individuals and families worldwide. From setting up production lines of lentils, oats and rice, to packing, weighing and sealing, our colleagues were part of a 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝟐𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬! One of our Pennant colleagues, Pamela Knyvett said, “This was an amazing opportunity to help those in need, and I am looking forward to being involved again. I really enjoyed being part of this activity and appreciated how much could be achieved when everybody works together.
