We've been continuing our work with our charity partner, Lives Not Knives, with a series of volunteering and fundraising activities. During the holidays, Lives Not Knives runs its Summer Engage Programme, which gives the young people they support the opportunity to enjoy engaging and empowering activities that will create lasting memories. This summer, our colleagues volunteered to play football, netball and board games with the young people, as part of the programme. Our Investment team also held a successful pie-throwing fundraising event to raise money to support the important work that Lives Not Knives do. #CommunityImpact #SustainabilityStrategy #Volunteering LIVES NOT KNIVES

Last week marked the end of our Summer Engage Programme. We asked some of our kids what they would be doing during their holidays if they didn't have the option of attending our half-term programme. Here are their answers... To continue running our amazing programmes, and the upkeep of our youth hub, we rely on you, the public, and your donations to our cause. Please check the Linktree in our bio to see all the ways you can help us continue to support young people. #LivesNotKnives #LNK #Programme #Youth

We’re a shareholder of the Cory Riverside Energy from Waste plant in Belvedere, Kent, which diverts non-recyclable waste from landfill and uses it to generate electricity. A £900 million expansion project will bring annual capacity up to 1.5 million tonnes of non-recyclable waste by 2026, saving up to 300,000 tonnes of CO2 each year in comparison to landfilling. The plant plans to be one of the first in the UK to invest in carbon capture and storage technology, which will capture around 90 per cent of its emissions and has been designated by the government as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project. #InvestmentStrategy #ResponsibleInvestment #Infrastructure

Our Mental Health First Aiders have been hosting mental health walks around our Croydon and Cannon Street offices. They are designed to help our employees spend more time outside and meet other colleagues, while also encouraging us to embrace regular physical activity to support our mental health. Victoria Kilford, one of our HR Business Partners and Mental Health First Aiders, said, "I’ve really enjoyed hosting some of the mental health walks over the summer months, where we've made the most of the sunshine by exploring different parts of London with colleagues. It's been a great opportunity to do something positive for our physical and mental health, whilst raising awareness of the Mental Health First Aiders at the PPF, so our employees know who we are if they ever need support." Throughout the year, our mental health first aiders have hosted other events, including breakfasts and meditation sessions, to support our employees. #MentalHealth #MentalHealthFirstAiders #MentalHealthAwareness

My name is Amelia Gustave, and I'm a summer intern in the PPF's technology and change team. I began wanting to pursue a career in technology after completing an online course on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence which highlighted how tech can be used to streamline work in a range of sectors. At university, I'm studying a design course where a lot of the focus is on user centred design. It's been great to put my theoretical learning from the course into practice at the PPF, such as through working on a data analysis project, reverse engineering a piece of code and learning how to use Power BI. In my final weeks at the PPF, I'm looking forward to gaining a greater understanding on how various teams work together to offer seamless service and learning more about coding and web development. In the future, I hope to pursue a career in the Biotechnology sector as I like the idea of engineering for improved quality of life, especially regarding various health conditions and accessibility. #Internship #Careers #TechnologyCareers

We recently worked with Investment20/20, who focus on creating a more diverse and inclusive investment industry, to host a group of Year 12 business students from a local school. Evan Guppy, our Head of LDI, volunteered to support the visit that included answering questions from the students, a networking session and running an exercise where students had the opportunity to act as portfolio managers. “The students were really engaged, debating what the best investments would be and why, and hopefully we brought to life what it's like to run a portfolio,” says Evan. “If just one student has come away from the session thinking ‘maybe I could do a job like that’, then we have made a difference.” #Volunteering #Mentor #CommunityImpact

Forestry is an asset class where we see sustainable investment opportunities. It helps to mitigate CO2 emissions by storing carbon, making it one of the few viable nature-based investment solutions in the journey towards a Net Zero carbon world. Well-managed forests can also increase biodiversity. One of our forestry assets, the Tasmanian Forest Trust, is 170,000-hectares and one of Australia’s largest plantation hardwood estates. We're pleased that they published one of the first integrated Climate + Nature disclosures in 2023 as a best practice example of natural capital reporting. https://lnkd.in/emY3h2Bs #ClimateChange #TCFD #ResponsibleInvestment
