  • At Persimmon, we are committed to leaving a lasting legacy in areas where we create new communities. 🏘️   As well as building good quality homes and creating well-paid, high-skilled jobs, our Community Champions scheme makes a real difference to people's lives. We do this by supporting local charities, sports clubs and good causes across the country.    We have 30 offices across the UK that each donate up to £6,000 every quarter to local organisations that are the lifeblood of our communities. Smaller donations are also available.   The application is straightforward and simple – making a submission to our Community Champions scheme takes less than five minutes.🕐   Find out more here:  https://lnkd.in/evMbfUt2 #PersimmonHomes #Charity

  • School pupils in Kent kitted out for wet weather play ☔ We are helping children at a primary school near #Sittingbourne in #Kent enjoy the great outdoors no matter what the weather. Hartlip Church of England Endowed Primary School follows the OPAL programme – Outdoor Play and Learning – and encourage pupils to embrace the changing seasons rather than hiding away indoors during wet weather. They have a sand pit, water table and mud kitchen in their school playground, and now they can enjoy them without getting their uniform dirty. The school applied for a Community Champions grant and were awarded £1,000 to purchase puddle suits for the whole school. The waterproof all-in-one suits will protect their uniforms while they embrace the play opportunities in the wet, windy and even snowy weather. #PersimmonHomes

  • Supporting the Lodge Skate Park’s recovery in Newton Abbot🛹 Lodge Skate Park, a vital community hub for skaters and BMX riders in #NewtonAbbot, has received a £2,000 donation from Persimmon Homes South West to support its recovery after suffering flood damage from Storm Bert. A key part of the town’s skateboarding, scootering, BMX, and roller-skating scene, the park provides a safe and inclusive space for young people to develop their skills and confidence. Run entirely by volunteers, it offers sessions for hundreds of children and young people from across South Devon. This funding, awarded through our Community Champions initiative, will help fund essential repairs and improvements—ensuring the park remains a place for young people to thrive for years to come. #PersimmonHomes

  • 🏡 180 much-needed new homes approved in Midsomer Norton 🌿 Persimmon Homes Wessex has secured outline planning permission for 180 new homes in #MidsomerNorton – bringing forward a development that will help address Somerset’s pressing housing need.   With 12,000 households on Somerset Council’s housing waiting list, our plans include a policy-compliant 54 affordable homes, ensuring more local people have access to a place to call home.   This milestone follows an extensive planning process, with the Planning Inspectorate recently upholding our vision for the site. We now look forward to working with Somerset Council on the next stage, submitting a reserved matters application to bring these plans to life.   But it’s not just about homes - we’re also delivering a biodiversity net gain of over 20%, with more than 100 new trees, a community orchard, bird and bat boxes, and enhanced green spaces. Residents will also benefit from on-site public open spaces, walking routes, and a dedicated children’s play area.   Our commitment to sustainability is at the heart of this development, with zero-carbon ready homes featuring air source heat pumps, electric vehicle charging points, and solar panels.    #PersimmonHomes

  • Green light for latest phase of north west Haverhill community 🏘️ Persimmon Homes #Suffolk has been granted planning permission for one of the final phases of the Boyton Place development in #Haverhill. Members of West Suffolk Council’s planning committee voted in favour of the plans for 112 energy-efficient homes, including 34 homes available for either shared ownership or below market rent. The approval comes as the business awaits a delegated decision on an application for Phase 3A and the new local centre within the Boyton Place community, which will bring a retail space suitable for a small supermarket and cafe facilities, plus further homes to the development. Work is due start work on these latest phases in coming months and the business will also be delivering several key community assets this year including a second play area, a multi use games area and allotments. The Haverhill Relief Road to the north of the site is due for completion this spring. Phases 5A and 5C will feature the latest range of eco homes from Persimmon, which offer thermally-efficient walls and floors, enhanced loft insulation and all homes will have access to an electric vehicle charging point. • Early donation to Lord Mayor’s Christmas gift fund in Kent🎅🏻 We have made a donation to a fund designed to help isolated, vulnerable or needy individuals and families in #Canterbury. The Mayor of Canterbury City Council's annual Christmas fund was boosted by £1,000 thanks to our South East team, helping them on their way to their target of £16,000. Fundraising takes place throughout the year so that each Christmas supermarket vouchers can be purchased through the fund.
