We support people to #livetheirbestlife.

About us

We believe that people deserve social care which improves their quality of life. We know that it's unique to every individual, so we tailor our support to what matters to you. Persona was created in October 2015. The services which make up Persona were previously delivered in-house at Bury Council. We are proud to have a long track record as quality in-house service but welcome the opportunity to take forward a new organisation with the ability to do things differently. We provide a range of different support options designed to be flexible to meet the diverse needs of the community. We categorise these as Days, Stays and Lives.

  • Last week we hosted a menopause information event for women with a learning disability in Bury. There was a curious and open atmosphere as people shared their knowledge and experience and learnt more about menopause. We also collected feedback about what could be better for women going through menopause in Bury and we're hoping that more events like this will run in the future. • We're shining a spotlight on some of our Mental Health First Aid trained wellbeing champions this World Mental Health Day. Work has a big part to play in all our mental health and we think it's important to give everyone the chance to get support when they need it. Our champions said they became Mental Health First Aiders because: I have struggled with my own mental health issues and I wanted to be ble to support people who are going through similar things. Kim I want to help make a difference and help others overcome their struggles in their own lives. Laura I think men have a particularly difficult time handling issues with mental health and I wanted to provide support to others. Mike I want help other people to find their own way out of whatever problems they might be having. There is definitely more to life than just getting by. Fiona I want to destigmatise mental health issues; I know first hand just how devastating and disabling they can be. David I want to be able to help others and offer my support to people struggling. Darcy Sometimes mental health can be forgotten and I don’t like to think of people suffering in silence. I want to be able to offer a listening ear to anyone who needs it.
