Well done Sebastian Aegidius!
Exciting News! Congratulations to my colleague Sebastian Aegidius on having his Masters thesis work published in our joint paper, "ASFM: #Augmented #Social #Force #Model for #Legged #Robot #Social #Navigation", which has been accepted for presentation at the IEEE RAS HUMANOIDS Conference in France later this year! This work was done in collaboration with our colleagues from the Robot Perception and Learning Lab at UCL, and us from the Personal Robotics Laboratory at Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Imperial College London. The research introduces an "Augmented Social Force Model" that improves social navigation for legged robots in #pedestrian settings. By refining interpretations of repulsive forces and avoidance behaviors based on human actions, our model enables more efficient and effective path-finding while prioritizing pedestrian comfort. We are looking forward to sharing our research with the robotics community at the conference! Stay tuned for more updates! Dimitrios Kanoulas Yiannis Demiris

I'm excited to be presenting our paper "On the Effect of #Augmented-#Reality #Multi-#User #Interfaces and #Shared #Mental #Models on #Human-#Robot #Trust" at The 33rd IEEE International Conference on Robot and Human Interactive Communication (IEEE RO-MAN 2024) in Pasadena next week. In the paper, we describe an innovative #AR multi-user interface we developed to study #non-#dyadic human-robot interactions using #Bayesian #Cumulative #Link #Mixture #Models (#CLMM). If you're attending the conference, I look forward to sharing more insights with you! This research was supported by UKRI Trustworthy Autonomous Systems (TAS) Hub node on #Trust. #HRI #Robotics #AugmentedReality #HumanRobotInteraction #Trust #ROMAN2024 Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Imperial College London - Personal Robotics Laboratory Watch the video and learn more about our findings:
