Yorkshire is a shining example and proof that new industries can put down roots outside the capital city. With over £8.3 billion in value and 94,000 employees, West Yorkshire is the UK's second centre for technology and banking after London – and new home of PEXA’s UK headquarters in the Bruntwood SciTech #WestVillage complex (pictured here). In the Yorkshire Times article, “Yorkshire: A Blueprint for Collaborative Success?” our UK CEO, Joe Pepper examines how Leeds is well-positioned to drive the collaboration needed to tackle the inefficiencies, high workloads for conveyancers and lenders, and fraud risks plaguing the property industry. Contributing to the latest issue of Modern Law Magazine, our Head of Market Development, UK Angela Hesketh, features in “The Client Connection”, a forum discussion on how client demands are shaping service delivery in the conveyancing sector. In the piece, Angela shares her thoughts on maintaining feedback loops, balancing technology and human experience, and how AI could revolutionise the way we deliver top-notch customer service – but not in the way you might think! While human interaction remains essential, technology’s role is to reduce friction, automate repetitive tasks, and improve accuracy—allowing our customers to focus on their service and exceed their clients' expectations. Exciting progress for West Yorkshire property transactions! We've helped launch a new working group, bringing together Leeds Building Society, Legal & General, West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Mortgage Advice Bureau, Arch Law Limited, the Open Property Data Association, amongst others, with a shared vision: to make the property transaction process more efficient and seamless. This initiative will harness West Yorkshire’s strengths across the financial, legal, and property sectors to reduce costs, save time, improve customer experience, and lower the risk of fraud. The group’s collaboration will provide a regional proof point for a solution that could ultimately transform property transactions across the country. By focusing on data sharing, technology integration, and collective expertise, we’re working together to address long-standing inefficiencies in the homebuying process. Looking forward to the journey ahead!
