The Storeganizer Files Episode 9 - Supermarket Groceries Today we look back at a Storeganizer solution designed for a leading supermarket chain, who wanted to gain pallet locations by repositioning their tail-end stock from underutilised pallet spaces into smaller, high-density pick locations. The largest standard size Storeganizer Pickfaces® pocket design (w450 x d500 x h450mm), providing 40 pockets per w2700mm rack bay was selected and installed in existing racks. A total of 150 Storeganizer bays use 300 pallet spaces, but created 6,000 smaller pick locations, thereby releasing 5,700 underutilised pallet spaces for full pallets. The Storeganizer Files Episode 8 - Tools and their spares This Storeganizer solution was designed for an international logistics company and their customer, who manufacture and market tools and power tools. As part of a major project to build a multi-level pick tower in their existing site, the companies involved selected Storeganizer to occupy the lower level, where the smallest items - that made up the majority of SKUs stored in the warehouse - are kept. These Pickfaces® and the pick locations within were designed to hold 600mm deep plastic bins, each with their own internal depth dividers, to create multiple pick locations within each shelf. This solution provides operators with a drawer-like configuration which creates a dense hand-picking array, increasing staff efficiency and saving a huge amount of space.
