At this year’s Independent Schools Show, we are thrilled to welcome Place2Be as our official charity partner for 2024. Place2Be will be hosting a Spinathon throughout the show to raise awareness and much-needed funds for children and young people’s mental health support. Every £16 raised could provide a child with a safe space to talk to a qualified counsellor, addressing key issues like anxiety, friendship struggles, or self-harm. Not into spinning? You can still show your support by wearing a splash of Place2Be’s signature orange at the show and donating just £1. 🧡 Donate here: https://lnkd.in/e2h5xxRv #MentalHealthInSchools #SupportingChildren #IndependentSchools #WellbeingInEducation #Place2Be #FundraiseforMentalHealth

Last week, Parliament's new Education Committee Chair Helen Hayes MP visited a Place2Be school to see how their embedded mental health service supports students. She said: “To mark World Mental Health Day, I was pleased to visit staff and pupils at St John’s Angell Town Primary School, in my constituency, to hear first-hand about the difference mental health charity Place2Be makes in their school... I will continue to champion the importance of good mental health support for every child who needs it.” Since Place2Be joined St John’s Angell Town last year, over 100 pupils have been supported with their emotional wellbeing and according to teachers, 83% of these children had improved mental health after Place2Be’s support.

🌟 "Seeing kids so much keeps them in the forefront of my mind, and so, these young individuals feel very precious to me, and they are to Place2Be," says Rhys Stephenson, the children's television presenter and ambassador for Place2Be. Recently, Rhys brought Smiley News along for a visit to the charity, highlighting his commitment to the mental well-being and safety of children, "Children are such a big part of my career. I get to see firsthand what affects them, what’s upsetting them, and what excites them," he shares. For over three decades, Place2Be has been a vital resource in schools, providing counselling, support, and educational resources to create a healthy environment for students. In celebration of #WorldMentalHealthDay, Rhys wore a special collaboration T-shirt as part of the Matchmaker for Good initiative. The Smiley Company's SmileyWorld and Next teamed up for a collection of T-shirts that all profits will support the work of Place2Be. 💚 #UNSDG #SDG3 #GoodHealthAndWellbeing #SDG17 #PartnershipsForTheGoals #MentalHealth #ChildrensWellbeing #Place2Be #SmileyWorld #MatchmakerForGood
