Earlier today Playtonic Ltd announced Elsie is hitting PC, PS5 & Switch on September 10th with a GORGEOUS animated trailer 😍 From QA, to devs, animators, voice actors and marketing, a whole bunch of very talented folks worked tirelessly to get this out the door! This week, Matt Griffin, Daniel Murdoch and Steve J. popped over to Prague to oversee (Well, I was here for content!) the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra recording orchestral versions of Yooka-Laylee tracks for Yooka-Replaylee at Smecky Music Studios! We’d like to extend a huge thanks to the team at Smecky and the Orchestra for being so accommodating and welcoming. We’ll have some content from the trip in the coming weeks and we can’t wait for you all to hear the quite frankly MAGICAL orchestral performances 😍

Today we announced Cattle Country! 🤠 The latest Playtonic Friends published title, working again with our friends at Castle Pixel, the creators of the Blossom Tales series. The game was announced via IGN Entertainment exclusive and the trailer features the incredible Roger Clark, famously, Arthur Morgan! And art by our very own Kev Bayliss! On Tuesday, a few of the Playtonic crew popped over to Burton and South Derbyshire College to speak with students about the games industry! It was really great for us to be able to share our individual experiences in how each of us entered the industry, from working in QA, to Rare veterans taking redundancy and forming Playtonic itself, or being a streamer that discovered Community Management! Hopefully this inspired the students and helped them see that regardless of what they want to do within the industry or adjacent industries, there's multiple pathways they can take towards and that they have plenty of options and plenty of time to decide where they land. Thank you to Gavin Price, Rebecca McCarthy, John Pegg and Steve J. for taking time out of their busy days to take part in this great initiave!

Now that the bat is out of the bag about Yooka-Replaylee! To celebrate our first internally-developed announcement since 2019, we roped in the guys at Poblano to rustle us up some Mexican street food on announcement day! Everyone loved their burritos, bowls and nachos, thanks guys!

Take-Two Interactive Sports Interactive (SI) Digital Sports Mgmt Sony CertOps Sony XDev / IT and Playstation Studios QA at finals day in September. Both events will be very special and both events will enable SpecialEffect to keep on helping young gamers like our mate Corey whose story from a few years ago is so worth a watch!

Our very own Steve J. is a finalist in the Community category of Game Dev Heroes! 👑 Steve joined us in January this year and has really hit the ground running with his approach to community and social media. He also really loves writing about himself in the third person 👀 (Thank you to everyone who nominated me, it means a lot!)
