Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of welcoming 18 year 12 students from Monoux Sixth Form Collage for one of our School Enrichment Days. These students are enrolled in the DEC (Design Engineering Construction) Level 3 Advanced course, which offers a dynamic combination of construction, engineering, and technical skills. With construction waste management being a key focus of their syllabus, their visit to Powerday provided a valuable opportunity for hands-on leaning and real-time insights into sustainable practices. In line with our 2024 manifesto, these enrichment days aim to bridge the gap between education and industry, equipping students with a comprehensive understanding of the sector. To find out more about our school enrichment days, reach out to Kevin Beckles at Kevin.Beckles@powerday.co.uk #SchoolEnrichment #YouthDevelopment #CommunityEngagement #EducationToIndustry #Apprenticeships #CareerDevelopment #WasteManagement #Recycling #Powerday #ConstructionCareers

Canning Town’s progress is coming along nicely! 🚀 We've successfully installed the roof on the plasterboard bays, crucial for containing dust and preventing the production of hydrogen sulphide from decomposition. During our 2023/24 financial year, we processed over 30,000 tonnes of plasterboard across our sites, achieving a 100% recycling rate. We're excited to share that our charity shop in Hillingdon has now raised an incredible £65,000 for Harlington Hospice Association Limited! Since January 2020, Powerday has been running a weekend charity shop at our site in West Drayton, where local residents can donate unwanted household items. Instead of being discarded, these items are sold at resale value, with all proceeds supporting the vital work of Harlington Hospice. The shop not only gives a second life to quality items like furniture, toys, and storage units, but also helps raise crucial funds for a charity that plays an essential role in supporting the community. It's a pleasure to see our lorry and bins helping out at Stamford Bridge! We’ve been busy dropping off Roll-on-Roll-off (RoRo) skips for Chelsea Football Club, assisting with the removal and recycling of old heaters ♻️⚙️. We’re proud to support such an iconic club—and of course, we couldn’t resist sneaking in a photo of our favourite office decoration: the European Cup. 🏆💙 Find out more about our RoRo skip hire services and how we can assist your project: https://lnkd.in/eTpdrEiS #Powerday #ChelseaFC #Recycling #Sustainability #SkipHire #StamfordBridge #UTC #RoRoSkips #CFC

🌿 💡Circular Economy Week – Powerday 🌍♻️ Comment from Patrick Rafferty, Environmental, Sustainability & Compliance Advisor at Powerday: This week is the seventh annual Circular Economy Week in the UK. Set up by ReLondon, the week provides an opportunity for organisations to demonstrate how adopting a circular economy can meet a diverse range of economic, environmental and societal challenges. At Powerday, we believe that initiatives like this are crucial in raising awareness and driving the change needed to safeguard our planet. Striving for a circular economy is not just a goal but a necessity for the health of the environment. We are living through a climate emergency which we fully recognise and appreciate. By rethinking how we produce, consume, and dispose of materials, we can significantly reduce our carbon footprint, limit the strain on natural resources, and foster a more sustainable future for generations to come. Circular Economy Week is all about mobilising organisations and individuals to change their policies and practices to revolutionise our behaviour when it comes to product usage. A truly circular economy supports the principle of 'reduce, reuse, recycle,' which aligns perfectly with Powerday’s mission to recover valuable resources from waste and divert as much as possible from landfill. We are committed to playing our part in creating a world where waste is minimised, and materials are kept in use for longer, helping to create a cleaner, greener planet. Weeks like this are a reminder of the power of collective action, and we’re proud to be part of this important conversation. #Powerday #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #ClimateAction #ReduceReuseRecycle #ZeroWaste #GreenFuture #CollectiveAction #SustainableLiving #EnvironmentalImpact #CircularEconomyWeek #WasteManagement #GreenInnovation #CleanPlanet #ResourceRecovery #Magazine #Construction #Manufacturing #Production #CircularEconomyWeek

At Powerday, we offer a unique service for transporting waste by water through our canal wharf in Willesden Junction. This eco-friendly solution significantly reduces carbon emissions compared to road transport, helping clients meet environmental targets while easing traffic congestion in London. Each barge can carry the equivalent of 12 skip loads, removing numerous HGVs from the roads. For businesses seeking to improve sustainability, this service offers an efficient and green alternative for waste management. We are well placed to support our clients with feasibility studies and understanding the viability of transporting the waste by water for individual projects.
