About us
Wakefield aims to enable young people with SEND to achieve their ambitions and prepare for adulthood with high aspirations in areas such as employment, independent living, community participation, productivity, and health and well-being. Leading on internal practice improvement for Preparing for Adulthood (PfA), working with stakeholders to achieve aspirational outcomes for SEND young people. This is through meaningful and tangible work experience and placements, supporting accredited qualifications, attend college, access higher education or enter employment through a range of practicable pathways.

As we wind down for the festive break, we just want to extend our enormous thank yous to everyone who has supported our team this year! We have held multiple events this year, between four SEND Employment Forums, PfA Drop In Clinics, a Coffee Morning and a Careers Event. We know we wouldn't have had been as successful as we have been without the support of our partners. Looking forward to 2024, we are excited to continue our work and build on the great work already happening within Preparing for Adulthood in Wakefield.
