What a great day spent promoting Pro Rail Services and the rail industry as a whole, at the Rail Forum 'Military is Good for Rail' event in Derby last Wednesday. It allowed our company to engage directly with military personnel transitioning into the rail industry, showcasing our rail services and career opportunities within Pro Rail Services. The event provided a platform for meaningful conversations about how the skills acquired in the military can be leveraged in rail roles, and it fostered potential recruitment and partnership opportunities. Overall, it helped raise brand awareness and positioned Pro Rail Services as a key player in supporting military-to-civilian career transitions in the rail sector. Our Sam Pettit EngTech TechIOSH attended the event to meet and network with a range of people who have recently left, or are planning their exit from, the UK’s armed forces and who are looking for new career opportunities. Week 6 – WMCL Signalling Project Delivery We're delighted to advise that in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday, 6th May 2024, our Pro Rail Services colleagues safely and on time delivered to VolkerRail Ltd two Signalling Asset Installation schemes to support VolkerRail Ltd with the commissioning of new signals on the Network Rail West Coast Mainline: WN 162 – 163 and WN 195 – 196 This project and our contract involved the following activities: ·      Project Management ·      Detailed Site Topo plus Height & Stagger Surveys to OLE assets ·      Ground Investigation for new piled foundations ·      Full Design & Assurance to Network Rail Standards ·      Detailed logistical planning to execute the required construction phase activities ·      Fabrication of structural steel elements to support new signalling equipment ·      Installation of Piled foundations using specialist On Track Plant (OTP) ·      Installation of new structural steel elements to support new signalling equipment utilising OTP ·      Utilisation of our inhouse Hybrid Battery Powered OTP MEWPs that emit zero carbon emissions ·      Safely controlled deconstruction and removal of redundant signalling gantry assets from site using OTP All of the above activities was executed over a 9 month period to allow for all of the above Survey, Design, Assurance, Fabrication, Planning & Construction process to be delivered to programme, with zero accidents or RIDDOR events incorporating sustainable plant solutions too, utilising a combination of Rules of the Route access plus 27 hour possession weekends. We want to thank our project delivery team, our supply chain and our client VolkerRail Ltd for creating a one team approach to safely and on time deliver a very complicated Design & Build Project against a backdrop where unforeseen challenges to the project were overcome by everyone coming together to deliver as a collective.
