To celebrate our tenth anniversary, we’re investing in our biggest and most exciting event yet: PRF Honduras on March 27-28! With over 4,000 attendees expected, including 400+ international and 80 national coffee buyers, PRF Honduras will bring unparalleled opportunities for networking, learning, and collaboration in San Pedro Sula, a key Latin American coffee hub. This follows the recent success of the PRF: Farm Summit at Hacienda Cafetera La Pradera, where 1,387 coffee professionals gathered in an intimate, immersive setting. With 404 farmers and 96 roasters attending, the summit offered unique opportunities for direct connection and knowledge-sharing at the farm level. In the latest Perfect Daily Grind article, Melina Devoney speaks to Jorge Cuevas, Chief Coffee Officer at Sustainable Harvest Coffee Importers, Jeffrey Chean, co-founder of Groundwork Coffee LLC, and Gabriel Agrelli Moreira, Manager of Quality and Market Development at Daterra Coffee, to explore the rise of regenerative agriculture in the coffee sector. They highlight how these practices are crucial in addressing the climate crisis and improving profitability for coffee producers. However, to avoid the pitfalls of greenwashing, a better understanding and measurable implementation of these methods are needed. That’s why the focus of PRF: Farm Summit 2024 is on regenerative agriculture and organic coffee farming. The event, taking place entirely on a coffee farm, offers a unique opportunity for producers and roasters to connect and learn about these holistic farming practices firsthand. By adopting these approaches, producers can reduce costs, adapt to climate change, and ensure long-term success. Join us from October 17-18, 2024, in Santander, Colombia, for this exciting event. It’s inspiring to see how one of the PRF Seed winners, Nickolle Sánchez and Óscar Omar Alonzo Aguilar, are making a real difference by improving and furnishing educational centers in Honduras. Through these initiatives, children in coffee-growing communities are gaining access to better educational opportunities, a brighter future, and a pathway out of child labor.
