We're pleased to announce the keynote speaker for Monday's Defence in Review conference will be Deputy Director General of the Royal United Services Institute, Malcolm Chalmers. This conference is being held in collaboration with the Freeman Air and Space Institute & Saab UK to discuss Western support for Ukraine and how the Labour government’s unwavering support for that country, and wider strategic interests interacts with its domestic, mission-led agenda. Labour Party Conference this week, the first with the Party in Government for 14 years, was a special one. We're incredibly grateful for the support of our friends in parliament, Labour members who joined us, and our partners - without whom we couldn't have been there debating issues from the housing crisis to crime. AFB were pleased to partner with Progressive Britain at the Labour Party Conference today for an informative discussion on the role of foreign investment in stimulating growth. We were delighted to hear from an expert panel including Dr. Jeevun Sandher MP, Emmanuelle Bury-Lucas, Laura Shoaf, Emily Wallace, and AFB's Chief Executive Giles French, who provided valuable insights into how non-UK headquartered banks can support the Government in making the UK the leading destination for foreign investment. Thank you to those that attended and contributed to the conversation. AFB will continue to advocate to the government the importance of foreign banks for the UK's growth and investment objectives.

The financial services sector has a key role to play in stimulating growth through inward investment financed by international banks in the UK.  We'll explore how investors/international banks can support the Government to fulfil its 5 missions and make the UK the top destination for foreign investment.
