✨🌟Continuing my reflections on the series of events leading up to #UNGA79 #SummitoftheFuture and #ClimateWeekNYC. 🤖Honored to have been invited to speak at the AI Research Summit hosted at Asana’s HQ in New York in partnership with Prolific looking at he impact of cutting-edge AI on work and collaboration, all contributing to the much needed discussions and education needed about using AI responsibly. It’s important to remember that Responsible is the umbrella that holds AI Ethics and that AI Ethics is not a one-size-fits-all thing. With the beautiful diversity of our world comes diversity in ethics. 🌐 That does NOT mean that we can’t align these ethics and find unity where possible, but we must listen to others and discuss the devastating consequences that are possible if do not consider the potential effects of emerging AI technologies. The AI Research Summit, hosted at the breathtaking Asana offices in NY was truly wonderful. 🌆 💡I was so pleased to share my insights on #AIEthics, #Education #Technology, #ClimateRepair, & #GlobalWellbeing & to hear from the lineup of fellow speakers, beautifully MC’d by Jag Singh from Prolific: 🌿 Rebecca Hinds, PhD, Head of The Work Innovation Lab at Asana on their research about how workers are doing in this transition to partnering with AI technologies. One thing Rebecca presented that stood out was the shift in how people engaged with AI systems are thinking, “Tool vs Teammate” or “Teammate vs Tool.” 🌿Dan Reich, Remesh, highlighting the potential for AI to augment rather than replace human capabilities and the need for trustworthy systems design and strategies to adequately consider the complexities of using human data versus synthetic data. 🌿Sonam Jindal, Partnership on AI shared insights on the aspect of the wellbeing for the human workers behind the data in AI design and development with a suggestion for guidelines to improve conditions for data workers including: Guaranteed Living Wages, the need for Clearer instructions, Better Communication, and more Participation in the design and and development of Pilot Projects. 🌿Zoe Donnenfield of Cognizant shared the workforce Synapse Initiative, aimed at technology education..with a goal to equip over a million more people with technology skills by 2026 with continuous learning. ✨Second time that week with the fantastic teams ofProlific and Asana including, @Nick Mills, David Graham, Brian Thompson, Cloè Plank-Hurley, Bradley F. and Thom Cummings. It is vital that industry leaders and all users of these technologies understand more to enable the responsible use of AI systems.
