𝘋𝘢𝘺 2 𝘏𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴: 🌱 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲: Florian Aßfalg from Boehringer Ingelheim shared BI’s decarbonisation and supplier collaboration strategies. 🌏 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬: Our India team celebrated the impact of the 2024 India Conference, and we look ahead to their exciting plans for the region. 🌐 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: Daniel Rehm introduced plans for the upcoming Global Supplier Conference, highlighting strategies to strengthen supplier partnerships. 🌳 𝐙𝐒𝐋 𝐄𝐔𝐃𝐑 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩: Oliver Cupit from Zoological Society of London (ZSL) led an informative session on responsible sourcing and the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), providing guidance on integrating responsible practices for compliant sourcing. 🔄 𝐏𝐒𝐂𝐈 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬: Members collaborated on key PSCI initiatives, including supplier engagement, adaptable audit frameworks, and Responsible Sourcing principles Thank you to everyone who contributed to the productive sessions this week and for driving meaningful change together. 🎉 We're excited to announce the publication of the Decarbonization Playbook for the Pharmaceutical Industry, an actionable playbook to guide pharmaceutical companies and their suppliers on the road to net zero. Developed by Accenture with input from experts at PSCI member companies, this Playbook provides 24 detailed emissions reduction initiatives across 7 impact areas that map to the drug development lifecycle. The Playbook provides a double-click into each initiative looking at the value, challenges, getting started, and resources. Recognizing the complexity of the pharmaceutical industry, it also includes a section on 6 critical organizational capabilities necessary for successful activation. Day 2 of #CPHIMilan was all about demystifying double materiality, speaking with manufacturers and suppliers, and connecting with our peers in the sustainability space. Our Chair Deirdre O’Reilly joined SCHOTT for a live experiment on double materiality, taking attendees through an assessment process in real time to demystify the process and reveal insights for what matters to different actors in the pharma value chain. At our stand, we met with companies interested in our new Supplier Partnership category and ways they can demonstrate their commitment to the PSCI Principles. And we rounded off the day meeting with fellow Sustainability and Responsible Business enthusiasts like our friends at #Energize from Schneider Electric Sustainability Business to celebrate CPHI’s new Sustainability Collective. We've been engaging with suppliers in China! Over the last month, PSCI activities have taken in several locations across the world. Here we report on our China supplier conference. 🌱 The 2024 PSCI China Supplier Conference in Nanjing on September 10-11 welcomed 276 attendees, from 136 supplier sites, across 2 days. This strong turnout highlights the ongoing focus on responsible supply chains in the pharmaceutical industry. 💡 This year, we focused on climate change and social responsibility. It was inspiring to hear from companies like Roche, sharing their decarbonization plans, and AstraZeneca, who discussed responsible labor practices in the local context. The quality of discussions continues to rise year after year, thanks to our dedicated speakers and participants. A big shout out to our China sub-team, the Capability Committee, and the Topic teams for their hard work in shaping this impactful event.
