    Toxic workplaces are causing psychological damage.   I’m not pointing this out for shock factor. I’m pointing this out because it’s true.   The statistics are damning. More people have experienced a toxic workplace than not (at 75%), and 61% of employees have resigned due to culture issues.   Psychological Safety is one of the most important, yet least understood, factors in business health - including employee retention.   If you haven’t been introduced to the term yet, it simply means having the confidence & comfort to express your Authentic Self. It’s the room to engage and interact openly with others, so individuals & teams can thrive - EVEN in challenging situations.   It is not needing to hide your disability, or neurodiversity, or sexuality, or religion, or background for fear of bullying or isolation.   It’s also not needing to hide your ideas for fear of being laughed at.   --- If these statistics break your heart like they do mine, and you want to protect people from toxic work stories (maybe you’ve suffered as a result), I’m your woman.   The first cohort of the Level 1 foundational course in Psychological Safety is on the 30th September.   It’ll help you become the safeguard you needed.   I will not stop banging on about it, because there are more people suffering from toxic workplaces with poor Psychological Safety than not.   It’s time we do something about it.   Comment YES below (or DM me) and I’ll send you more details about the course!   #PsychologicalSafetyStatistics #WorkplaceHealth

We tell you what we REALLY think about these! Here are the 8 most common misconceptions we hear regularly. 1. “Psychological safety revolves around the fear of speaking up or making mistakes.” 2. “Psychological safety and inclusion are intrinsically linked.” 3. “Inclusion takes priority over psychological safety in our EDI initiatives since it doesn’t affect everyone.” 4. “Leaders are responsible for psychological safety.” 5. “Psychological safety only affects a few people, specifically the ones that are susceptible to stress and anxiety.” 6. “A single training session for everyone in the organisation will create a psychologically safe workplace and provide all the tools that we need.” 7. “HR teams, well-being teams and Employee Resource Groups are the ones that should lead the discussions about psychological safety.”   8. “It is impossible to measure how psychologically safe employees feel at work.” If you say or believe any of these, STOP.
