In celebration of New York Climate Week we wanted to re-share the beautiful conversation our Cora Hilts got to have with Dan Barber or Blue Hill Farm on the power of food in the climate movement. Dan has long been a leader in hyper seasonal and local cooking at Blue Hill restaurant in New York, but with the farm outside of the city he has been able to experiment and learn even further. This is a conversation that spans from the importance of seed sovereignty and non-GMO crops to the taste of organic to the positive role that restaurants can play in a more conscious culture. We hope it inspires you as much as it did us! https://lnkd.in/ep-PNMqf
About us
Founded by Cora Hilts and Natasha Tucker in 2013, Rêve En Vert is the online destination for luxury sustainable style. Through the Rêve En Vert ethos, Cora and Natasha ensure that every brand they represent is produced ethically, often with sustainable materials and fair trade practices. Rêve En Vert, above everything else, is an ethos. A company we founded in response to the evolving nature of contemporary style into something a bit too consumptive and trend-based for our taste. It’s our commitment to bettering the world through the medium of fashion and lifestyle. It is a project of passion by the two of us to support designers that are doing their best to improve the standards of the design industry. In the Rêve En Vert office, we speak about curation, aesthetic and longevity as the traits we want to see in the labels we choose to carry. We know that change in design must be made for our social and environmental wellbeing. We want to use Rêve En Vert as the platform to put forward the creators who are pioneering this goal in unique and innovative ways. We want people to be as excited about this movement as we here at Rêve En Vert all are.

"When we started our business nearly four decades ago, the world was about disposables, glitter and plastic. It was about growth and success, regardless of the consequences. The impact on the climate and on future generations was not taken into consideration. Resources were seen as infinite and recycling was something nobody cared about. That was when our founder, Dr. Joseph, initiated the first toxic waste collection in South Tyrol. Nearly forty years later, we still believe in the genius of nature. For us at TEAM DR JOSEPH, it has always been the world’s most intelligent laboratory." Learn more about what a pioneering organic skincare line TEAM DR JOSEPH has done to maintain it's success, using nature at it's core, below! https://lnkd.in/gkfMkAEb

What a retreat can look like that brings inclusivity, sustainability and creativity together by one of our guest editors, Johanna Aurea Ljunggren. "One thing that has struck me is how the wellness and yoga retreat space has become increasingly exclusive, to the point where it stops including those who need it the most. This space has evolved into a binary environment and this all-or-nothing atmosphere creates a significant barrier for many individuals seeking wellbeing and connection. Our pilot retreat for the Asparagus season revealed this starkly: 100% of participants felt they had never truly belonged at a retreat before. This suggests that the current system is failing to be inclusive. Furthermore, despite the abundance of self-help publications, podcasts, and posts, mental health continues to decline, highlighting the broader failure of these systems." https://lnkd.in/gm7CY2SK

Plastic Free July Podcast Drop! Plastic Free Solutions in Seaweed With Julia Marsh, Co-Founder of Sway. Today we are incredibly excited to bring you a conversation with Co-founder of Sway, Julia Marsh! Sway create innovative seaweed alternatives to plastic that aim to combat climate change by involving nature in every step of the creative process. Plastic typically has no regard for its consequences to nature, and recycling as a second thought solution is encouraged by big oil as a smoke screen that allows them to continue operating as they are, manufacturing and using pollutive materials. This is why we love the work of Sway and why this episode is so impactful – we hope it can inspire you to be innovative in whatever field of work you’re in too! https://lnkd.in/gTrvAgyp

We wanted to share a little Monday Motivation on the power of nature to connect us - at a time when differences seem very complex the idea that the land can be a healer is such a beautiful one. So our episode with Jesse Smith of White Buffalo Land Trust, a place where collaboration, open mindedness and a deep reverence for our shared land exists, seemed like the perfect podcast to give you all to listen to! “Human ingenuity is one of the most undervalued potential energy sources that we actually can consider, which is interesting because it resides within us. We have had a heavy hand in putting ourselves in a sticky situation, but I think that if we can really attune to natural cycles and systems and recognize ourselves as part of nature, not separate from it, and bringing a new mindset to it then there’s so much potential of what we can do.” - Jesse Smith https://lnkd.in/gg9ATFe6
