From historical fiction and becoming 'Undoctored' to sports and politics and everything in between, the Festival was a wonderful celebration of great books and leading thinkers. What a brilliant week at Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival! Following our opening night on Thursday with former PM Theresa May, we welcomed etiquette expert William Hanson, BBC broadcaster Ros Atkins, wine expert Tom Surgey and the legendary Adam Kay to the Raworths stage. This afternoon we'll see Victoria Hislop and The Yorkshire Vet, tomorrow we host a Literary Lunch with Ajay Chowdhury, and then we're into a weekend of children's authors along with journalists, historians, sporting giants, stars of the screen and more! We’d like to shine a light on the fantastic work by Heather Roberts, Legal Director at Raworths LLP, as part of the team helping Broomfield south silc school, an all-age special educational needs school serving south Leeds, secure a state-of-the art building at the White Rose Park.   Broomfield South is now operating from its new home in a 9,000 sq ft former office suite on the ground floor of the refurbished ABC Building, which accommodates more around 80 students and 30 staff members. The new facilities have enabled Broomfield to move and increase provision for its Post-16 students at the new space, giving capacity this year to accept more students under the age of 16 to their Belle Isle site, helping to meet the increased demand for SEND placements.   Heather said: “We worked closely with Broomfield South SILC School as well as partners and collaborators including the landlord’s surveyors and lawyers, Leeds City Council‘s planning and property departments, the Children and Families Directorate and the Department for Education to ensure the new premises were secured and delivered on time, enabling the school to complete the fit-out ready to welcome students for the new school year.   “This much-needed Post 16 provision at White Rose Park will offer even more young people with SEND an incredible opportunity to learn under the guidance of Kathryn Bryan, Lizzie Chappell and their brilliant team, equipping themselves with the skills and knowledge to gain independence and employment.”   Well done to everyone involved for getting this project over the line – including : David Aspin | Eamon Fox I Jonathan Shires | Ollie Maloney I CBRE I Sanderson Weatherall | certified B Corp | Knight Frank | Mark Mildren https://lnkd.in/eUpFzw6q
