Action Together CIO is the infrastructure organisation for the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector in Oldham, Rochdale, and Tameside. Our volunteering team helps people volunteer in the local community by connecting them to local groups that are registered through Action Together. Er is ontzettend veel talent onder buitenlands gediplomeerde zorgprofessionals. En met iets meer ondersteuning in het BIG-registratietraject kan het veel makkelijker en haalbaarder worden voor hen om aan de slag te gaan in de zorg. Daarnaast zijn er ook allerlei andere zorgberoepen waar een BIG-registratie niet verplicht is waar dit talent goed op haar plek kan komen. What a pleasure it was to attend yesterday’s Refugee Week Conference. This year’s theme is ‘Community as a Superpower.’ 🦸♀️ It was a privilege to hear speakers from organisations leading the way in refugee initiatives, including Enver Solomon from Refugee Council and Vicky Tennant from UK for UNHCR We were also lucky enough to see some beautiful musical performances 🎶 The conference was topped off with the unveiling of this year’s art work, created by Hossam Fazulla 🎨 Here at REACHE we have certainly been inspired by the speakers and performers to start planning events to celebrate. 🧡

REACHE members went on a trip last week to the beautiful market town of Altrincham. We first stopped off at Planet Ice and tried ice skating for the first time! ❄️⛸️ We were lucky to have a professional coach on hand to give us some helpful tips; the polar bears helped too! 🐻❄️ After working up a sweat and not breaking any bones, we walked through Altrincham, stopping along the way to admire the Georgian buildings and discuss the history of market towns. We then browsed the market stalls before heading to try the local food. The variety was great, and we loved the local pie and mash! It was great to have members from every stage of the programme present, from those in OET classes right through to those about to start NHS jobs! A huge thank you to Muna, one of our ESP tutors, for organising the trip! ☺️ #refugeedoctors
