It was great to hear our CEO, Lesley Gladwell, in conversation with Michael Gladwell, discussing the work Rebuild has been doing over the past 6 years helping people rebuild their lives after modern slavery and exploitation right here in our local community. We're also excited to launch our new ‘Spot the Signs Ambassador’ campaign. Through this initiative we want to support communities to spot the signs of modern slavery in people’s behaviour, appearance and habits so that anyone experiencing it can be given the right support. Modern slavery happens in Derby & Derbyshire, it is often hidden in plain sight, making the signs easy to overlook. We believe in empowering communities to recognise the signs of modern slavery through changes in behavior, appearance, and habits, ensuring that those affected can receive the appropriate support. Today during 'Anti Slavery Week' we are launching our 'Spot the Sign's' Campaign, we are encouraging businesses and organisations to sign up to become Spot the Signs Ambassador. Membership enables access to Spot the Signs resources and a Spot the Signs ‘badge’ which can be used across social media and communication channels to show support of the campaign and the fight against modern slavery. When people hear the term modern slavery, they often imagine physical chains, but this is not often the case. Exploitation can take many forms including labor exploitation, domestic servitude, sexual exploitation, organ harvesting, and criminal exploitation. And it happens in plain sight. Great to host Matt Hyde OBE the new CEO of the Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales and Gary Beharrell, the regional grant manager to our offices this week. We are very excited to have recently been successful in a further 3 years grant funding from the foundation starting in January 2025. The Lloyds foundation are just great at what they do! Over the past 5 months thanks to a growth voucher from the East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire), we have been working with The Brand Strategy to refresh and evolve our brand.  We are 5 years old this year and as our work develops we wanted a logo that was more representative of who we are now.
