Wow, what a #RememberACharityWeek ! After an incredible Week bursting with #legacy noise and excitement, we’re delighted to share just some of the Week’s many highlights: 🗺 The start of the week saw the launch of The Great Map of #Willanthropy and our accompanying report ‘A Nation of Willanthropists’ – shining a light on the incredible work of our members and how gifts in Wills are making a positive difference across the World. 📺 Our new 'Be remembered’ adverts went live, and we were delighted to introduce you to Owen's unstoppable hips, Jackie's home haircuts and Uncle Geoff's gnomes! Since last Monday, the videos have already racked up a staggering over half a million views across Meta and YouTube. 📣 The lovely Debbie McGee joined us to champion Willanthropy and the importance of legacy giving - appearing on radio stations including GB News, BBC London, BBC Sussex and Surrey, NVTV, London Live and more - with a total reach of over 4.5 million. 🙌 Our wonderful members well and truly made the most of their suite of personalised WILL YOU assets, including new infographic videos. It has been great to see so many of you using them to convey the importance of legacies to your charity throughout the week and beyond! 💻 Our website has already had more than 333,000 unique visits since the start of the year - setting a new annual record, with over three months of the year still to go! What's more, our advertising activity has reached over 4.4 million people so far this year – inspiring even more people with the power of #legacies. 💛 Our wonderful partners, Charity Champions and Campaign Supporters have all rallied behind us, proudly showing off their support for the campaign across social media – a big thank you to you all for your ongoing support! 📰 We’ve been helping to further inform and inspire consumers with our editorial content in the Your Later Life supplement, which went out both in The Guardian and live online, as well as by talking all things Wills, what they are, and how to include a charitable gift on the latest episode of Which? Money podcast. All that remains to say is a big thank you to everyone who played such an important part in filling the Week with inspiring stories of legacy impact, celebrations of wonderful Willanthropists, and information to help encourage even more people to consider including a charitable gift in their Will 💝

Cross-charity campaign raising awareness of the importance of gifts in Wills to good causes across the UK.
About us
Remember A Charity is the biggest single-issue campaign in the voluntary sector. It is made up of 200 member charities, working together to encourage more people to consider leaving a gift to charities in their will, after they’ve looked after their family and friends. The UK legacy market is currently worth more than 25 times the amount Comic Relief raises each year. A 4% change in behaviour would raise a further £1 billion for good causes every year.

📰 The Competition and Markets Authority has brought out new guidance on unregulated Will-writing, with separate guides for providers and for the public. This new guidance aims to help the public make more informed choices, support unregulated practitioners in complying with their obligations and increase protection for consumers who opt for alternatives to high street solicitors when making a Will. This will be helpful for charities that signpost supporters to relevant Will-writing providers or partners, making it easier for donors to understand the range of options for Will-writing. For providers, the guidance covers the do's the don'ts. While for the public, it includes the key questions to ask when choosing the right service for them. How can you make your gifts in Wills pages work harder and better for your charity? Here are six great practical tips to consider, with useful resources and insight from Madeleine Sugden. 👇 This includes: 1️⃣ Impactful images 📸 - moving away from tired stock photos of fountain pens and Wills to imagery that reflect the impact of your work or those you support. 2️⃣ Removing blockages 🚧 like technical language and cumbersome web forms, making it easier for people to take action. 3️⃣ Boosting search and findability 🔎 , making sure gifts in Wills are featured in the charity's megamenu. 4️⃣ Weave in motivation 💛 , whether that's in the form of your legacy proposition and/or storytelling from your donors and beneficiaries. 5️⃣ Supporter-centred content 😊 , building confidence in your organisation and your approach to legacies, which might include displaying your legacy promise or the answers to questions they might be thinking about. 6️⃣ Integrated comms 🛤 , ensuring your web content reflects your wider legacy messaging so that the user journey is smooth and consistent. #GiftinWills #Legacies #DigitalFundraising
