Today is World Mental Health Day. Statistics show that around 79% of autistic people have at least one co-occurring mental health condition, with around 40% estimated to have an anxiety disorder, 30-50% may also have depression, and up to 37% diagnosed with OCD. These stats may be higher as many autistic people face challenges with diagnosis, with autism not widely considered in mental health screening and diagnostic criteria. This leads to misdiagnosis and even more barriers in accessing appropriate, meaningful support. These statistics highlight the urgent need for more accessible and tailored mental health support for the autistic community. Join us on the 5th December, for our Thursday Evening Sessions training on Autism and Mental Health. Aimed at professionals but open to anyone wanting to learn more, we will explore the interplay between autism and mental health challenges, and barriers to diagnosis and support. Gain insights into common co-occurring conditions, uncover key areas of overlap, and take away with practical strategies to help reduce overwhelm, celebrate strengths, boost confidence and improve wellbeing. https://lnkd.in/dAJdFvkP
