Creating Safer Spaces for Women and Girls: A Call to Action Women’s safety in public spaces isn’t just an issue—it’s a crisis. One million incidents of violence against women and girls were recorded in 2022/23 alone. Fear shouldn’t dictate where women can go, yet the built environment has long been designed without their needs in mind. At Retail Destination LIVE 2025, our very own Marketing & Events Director Kayley Buxton hosted a powerful discussion on how we can reshape our towns, cities, and retail spaces to be safer and more inclusive. Industry leaders Tarah Gear (Milligan) and Marina Milosev (Beyond the Red Line) shared insights on the gender data gap, inclusive design, and why prioritising women’s safety benefits everyone. The conversation doesn’t end here—now is the time for action. "In a rapidly evolving retail world, the concept of repurposing and decarbonising existing assets is no longer optional - it is essential." Yet, many in the industry perceive this transformation as too costly, too complex, and lacking immediate financial returns. This mindset leads to inaction, putting assets at risk of becoming non-compliant, non-rentable, and non-saleable. More importantly, it delays critical progress towards a low-carbon future. So, what are the key challenges, and how do we overcome them? Our latest insight, produced by Tom Whittington (Savills), Nick Thursby (Chapman Taylor), David Geddes (CO2 Target), and Megan Lees (Chapman Taylor)—all members of our ESG Committee—dives into the urgent need to reenergise and decarbonise ailing retail stock. 🔍 Access the full insight here (Exclusive to Revo Members): https://lnkd.in/e5FiwpNN Not a member yet?
