Maize starch is a natural & gentle ingredient that can be used in a wide range of applications due to its absorbent and soothing properties. This operates very similarly to kaolin. Pumice is an abrasive material typically used as an exfoliant within the cosmetic industry for products such as facial scrubs, body scrubs & hand wash/soaps. Hyaloronic Acid has excellent hydrating properties which allow it to be used effectively in moisturisers, anti-ageing products, face/eye masks & shampoos/conditioners. Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers, or HALS, play a crucial role in extending the lifespan of various products by protecting against the effects of UV, including: 👉 Plastics 👉 Coatings 👉 Elastomers 👉 Fibers 👉 Adhesives and Sealants They help prevent fading, discolouration and other forms of degradation caused by UV exposure. Anti-oxidants are crucial additives across a range of industries. Dicyandiamide (DICY) is a crucial latent curing agent for epoxy systems. Due to its insolubility in epoxy resins at room temperature, DICY activates only when heated to at least 150°C. This heating process allows DICY to react with the epoxy resin, and the reaction halts when the heat is removed, resulting in a partially cured or “B-staged” state ideal for prepreg applications. DICY is typically used at levels of 5–7 parts per 100 parts of liquid epoxy resins and 3–4 parts per 100 parts of solid epoxy resins by weight. For accelerated curing, adding a Urone at 2–3 parts per 100 parts resin is recommended. To avoid white specs in aesthetic composite parts, a nanoparticle DICY paste is ideal.
