RNOH, the largest orthopaedic hospital in the UK, is regarded as a leader in the field of orthopaedics both in the UK and world-wide. We provide a comprehensive and unique range of neuro-musculoskeletal healthcare, ranging from acute spinal injuries to orthopaedic medicine and specialist rehabilitation for chronic back sufferers. RNOH plays a major role in teaching with over 20% of all UK orthopaedic surgeons receive training here. Our patients benefit from a team of highly specialised consultants, many of whom are recognised for their expertise both in the UK and abroad. We enhance our clinical effectiveness by working in partnership with University College London especially UCL's Institute of Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal Science. The RNOH, together with the IOMS, has a long track record of innovative research leading to new devices and treatments for some of the most complex orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions.   • RNOH is delighted to announce that Professor Manish K. Tiwari has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the RNOH Board. Manish is Royal Society Wolfson Fellow and Professor of Nanoengineering at UCL and Director of Research in UCL Mechanical Engineering, where he helps curate the research strategy and related priorities. He has been part of UCL’s Wellcome/EPSRC centre for Interventional and Surgical Sciences (WEISS) from inception and will continue to engage in the centre in its future form for his work on the engineering innovations for interventional healthcare. He co-led the Manufacturing Futures Laboratory in UCL’s new campus in Queen Elizabeth Olympic park from conception and is currently part of the steering team. Manish is interested in nanoengineered systems for energy and healthcare, with special emphasis on sustainable materials and manufacturing technologies. Manish has received a number of prestigious fellowships for his research. This includes Royal Society Wolfson Fellowship, Starting and Consolidator fellowships from the highly competitive European Research Council (ERC) and Yusuf Hamied Visiting Professorship from the Royal Society. Commenting upon his appointment, Manish said: “I am delighted to join the RNOH Board, and look forward to making a meaningful contribution to its operations for better patient care.” RNOH Chair Doris Olulode welcomed Manish’s appointment, saying: “I’d like to welcome Manish to the RNOH Board. I look forward to his insight, leadership and contribution towards our collective objectives.”

  • We are thrilled to announce that our colleague Queen Adeyanju has been awarded the RNOH Nursing Research Fellowship. As part of this fellowship, she will publish her feasibility study on using virtual reality to control acute pain after knee surgery. The RNOH Nursing Research Fellowship Programme supports nurses in advancing their clinical academic careers and becoming independent researchers and leaders. Fellows benefit from protected time to conduct their proposed research, mentorship, peer support, and formal training. We are incredibly proud of Queen's achievement and excited to see the outcomes of her innovative research.

  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Therapy Technician to be part of a highly motivated team who deliver musculoskeletal care within a community setting. Full details on the job and application in the link: The Enfield Musculoskeletal Hub prides itself on demonstrating a collaborative joined up approach in the management of musculoskeletal conditions. This role has the opportunity to work alongside Physiotherapists, Research Therapists, Pain Management Specialists, Osteopaths, Dietitians and third part organisations that aim to deliver a holistic management approach.   The Enfield Musculoskeletal Hub provides musculoskeletal services to a multicultural and diverse service user population.   • There is a reduced courtesy bus service this week (w/c 14 October 2024), with only one minibus running from 6am to 10am and from 3pm to 7pm. Where possible, please use bus 324 from Stanmore station (bus stop is opposite side of the road from the station) or bus 107 from Edgware or Elstree station to the hospital. The bus stop for both directions is outside of the hospital entrance on Brockley Hill. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and are doing our best to resolve this as quickly as possible.
