Last week the brewing operations team visited Simpsons Malt, our malt supplier. The visit had a sustainability slant to the day and our team learned about regenerative farming, barley economics and how Simpsons impact our scope 3 emissions.

Congratulations to David Yip on his new role as General Manager at the Masons Arms. After gaining valuable experience at several of our Cumbrian pubs, David has now found his place at the Masons Arms, the closest inn to his hometown of Barrow-in-Furness. Our Food Training Executive, Harrison, has been working closely with Cloughwood Academy to teach some of the students cheffing skills. Their local pub, Hartford Hall on School Lane, has been hosting training days and sessions with some of the students at the school, with some of them staying to work at the pub over their summer break. Harrison is keen to see the continued development of the students and is therefore raising money to fund advanced kitchen equipment for their classrooms, to help them develop into our next generation of chefs. He'll be running the Manchester Half marathon in aid of the students kitchen facilities and hopes to raise enough to buy the school a Thermomix. Stock Party, over and out. What a weekend we had here in our Brewery yard. Over the last few months our Brewing and Brands team have been busy working away with our friends at Where The Light Gets In, Track, Cloudwater, Balance, Runaway and Sureshot to create what was a pretty epic weekend. We saw thousands of people flock to Stockport to celebrate summer at 'Stock Party'. And it actually felt like summer! With no rain until the end, great DJs and people bringing great vibes, we felt the love! Amongst the crowds who headed down to enjoy their weekend with us, it was fantastic to see so many of our colleagues bringing their friends and families down to support the event. We're proud to have and be part of such a great community🥰.

  Today, we hosted our second monthly Wine Wisdom drop-in at the brewery, led by our Head of Wine Operations, Nick. The turnout was great, and we had a fantastic time learning about the various styles of Chardonnay. It's an exciting month at the brewhouse! We've been busy behind the scenes collaborating with some of our friends across Manchester to create a limited edition beer. Ahead of a one-off event being hosted on The Underbanks in Stockport on 20th July, we've created 'Stock Party Pale'. We've joined forces with Where The Light Gets In and brewers at Track, Sureshot, Cloudwater, Balance and Runaway to create a citrusy pale ale hopped with Galaxy, Goldings, Ernest and Harlequin hops.
