About us

Independent, family-owned St Austell Brewery has been brewing beer in Cornwall since 1851. Fast forward 170 years and while traditional brewing techniques remain, innovation, passion and craftsmanship continue to evolve. Most famous for our flagship beer, Tribute Pale Ale, our range of award-winning beers – also including Proper Job IPA and korev lager - are available in pubs and supermarkets nationwide. We're also the leading wholesale distributor of beers, ciders, minerals, wines, and spirits in the South West. We own over 160 pubs, inns, and hotels across the West Country – including managed houses and tenancies - in some of the region's most iconic locations.

  • For the second year in a row, our South West pubs have been named among The Sunday Times' prestigious Top 100 Places to Stay in the UK. The Masons Arms in Branscombe earned a spot on the list for 2024, and this year, it’s the turn of our recently renovated pub in Charlestown, the Pier House. Both sites showcase our ongoing investment and dedication to our incredible pubs across the region. "Reopened in June 2024 after a top-to-bottom refit, the Pier House stands like a beacon above a tight little knot of schooners and stout granite quays and delivers on its promise of storm-proof hospitality with classy sage green and strawberry bedrooms, posh pub grub and pints of Proper Job IPA." • It’s National Apprenticeship Week! ⭐️ What an incredible week it’s been! We’ve been buzzing with excitement as the brewery and beyond have been busy hosting a wide range of events, activities, and support sessions across Cornwall. From our Careers Open Day to the Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards, where two of our talented team members took home well-deserved awards, it’s been non-stop here, celebrating and inspiring the next generation. To cap off an already amazing week, a group of our budding hospitality apprentices took over Spires Restaurant on Tuesday evening, partnering with Truro and Penwith College The event was a true showcase of the incredible skills our apprentices have honed. From restaurant management to bar service, waitressing, and of course, culinary expertise, our team designed an exceptional three-course menu with perfectly paired beers for our guests. The evening was a complete sell-out, with every seat taken by a group of enthusiastic and impressed attendees. The entire evening was led by the apprentices, with support from college tutors and our nurturing development chefs. 🍽️ A huge congratulations to everyone who made this National Apprenticeship Week such a memorable celebration! 🎉 People are our passion and your passion is our priority! 💪🏾

Proud Moments at the Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards! We are thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievements of two exceptional apprentices this evening. Firstly, a huge congratulations to Alice Norris from the Borough Arms for winning the ‘Apprentice of the Year, Hospitality’ award! Completing a Level 4 course is no small feat, but Alice has gone above and beyond by excelling in her studies while relocating, taking on greater responsibilities, and leading a large team in a busy operation. Her hard work and dedication are truly inspiring! Secondly, a well-deserved recognition goes to Piers Smith from Haveners Bar & Grill, who received the ‘Apprentice Achiever of the Year’ award. We’ve had the privilege of witnessing Piers’ remarkable transformation over the course of his apprenticeship journey. From a shy and unconfident individual, Piers has blossomed into a self-assured and well-respected team member, deeply valued within his community. His story is a testament to the life-changing impact of apprenticeships. The evening was filled with inspiring stories, and it’s clear that the future of Cornwall is in great hands. If all the nominees tonight are any indication, we’re definitely heading in a bright direction. 🏆🍻 #NAW2025 #SkillsForLife

We're delighted to share that thanks to over 1,300 attendees, our annual Celtic Beer Festival raised £12,000 for the St Austell Brewery Charitable Trust back in November! 🍻 Hoards of revellers joined us at St Austell Brewery for our much-anticipated annual Celtic Beer Festival back in November.   The day-long festival transformed our historic Victorian cellars into a bustling festival venue, with five bars offering more than 100 beers (donated by over 50 UK breweries!) accompanied by fantastic live music throughout the day. Funds were raised through ticket sales, drinks token purchases and charitable donations made across the day. The St Austell Brewery Charitable Trust raises fund for communities, charities and individuals across the South West. Since its launch in 2003, the Charitable Trust has raised over £1,000,000 - aiding organisations and individuals in need 🙌 In 2024 alone, the Trust donated more than £95,000 to various causes, including youth mental health services, the air ambulance, and local families requiring equipment or additional support. Of course, a huge thank you goes out to all of our event sponsors and those that made the day possible with lots of hard work 💪 You can find out more here: https://lnkd.in/d6GtEizR #cornwallevents #businesscornwal #charity #fundraising
