Our first electric vehicles to bear the cypher of King Charles III are hitting the streets this week! 🚘 Earlier this year we announced plans to add an extra 2,100 electric vans to our fleet. We’ve continued our long-term partnership with Peugeot UK to supply these vans which include 1,100 E-PARTNER vans built at Ellesmere Port, the UK’s first EV-only volume manufacturing plant. Peugeot, alongside its sister Stellantis brands, is the only brand to manufacture electric vans in volume in the UK. They’re also supplying 1,000 fully electric E-EXPERT vans as part of the deal. We already have the largest electric delivery fleet in the UK, and these additions will increase our electric fleet to 7,100 vans. When all 2,100 new electric vans are in use, they are expected to reduce Royal Mail’s total emissions by around 6,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent per year.

We're incredibly proud of our amazing colleagues who came together to achieve this! The money raised will have a lasting impact in communities across the UK. Thank you to all of our teams who continue to support British Heart Foundation 💗
Over the summer, thousands of Royal Mail colleagues got involved in the Great Big Fundraising Challenge and raised over £346,000 through a phenomenal variety of activities including challenging treks, walks, rows, runs and bike rides. The incredible fundraising efforts of colleagues at Royal Mail will support the BHF’s lifesaving mission. Providing more defibrillators for communities, creating accessible heart health information and funding both Classroom RevivR and our Heart Helpline. What a huge impact you've made Royal Mail. ❤️

This includes: 📦 Three new Parcel Sorting Machines to join the existing 36 - these PSMs have vastly increased our efficiency in sorting parcels. 📦 Introducing more Large Parcel Conveyors to support increased parcel growth and improve capacity at our mail centres. 📦 Continuing to expand our growing parcel lockers network, making sending and receiving parcels as convenient as possible. It's all part of our efforts to meet the needs of our customers across the UK, and with parcel volumes growing, it puts us on the right track to prosper in the future. Read the full piece below.

Today we've announced the launch of the UK’s first Collective Defined Contribution pension plan. The innovative scheme will offer over 100,000 Royal Mail employees a cash lump sum and an income in retirement. Royal Mail, the Communications Workers Union and Unite CMA have worked together to design and implement a scheme that would provide the right pension arrangement for its people and the company. At the outset, the parties agreed that any scheme had to provide one pension for all employees with at least 12 months service. It had to be affordable for Royal Mail and its people and would provide an income in retirement. The Collective Plan pools members’ contributions and provides everyone with both an income in retirement and a lump sum. You can find out more here: https://lnkd.in/eKp2GeJj
