The Simply Affordable Homes Fund has adopted the Sustainability Impact Label under the Financial Conduct Authority's Sustainable Disclosure Requirements (SDR). The Fund’s SDR Sustainability Objective is to: "Meet Social Need" by undertaking investments which provide homes for those not adequately served by the open market. This is one of the five Impact Objectives the Fund has adopted. They each have both core and enhanced metrics against which progress is measured in line with the Fund’s Impact Framework. This includes a detailed theory of change framework developed with The Good Economy. #ImpactInvestment #SustainableFinance #AffordableHousing #ESG #SDRLabel #ResponsibleInvesting #SocialImpact #ImpactFund #FinancialInclusion #EthicalInvesting #Sustainability #HousingForAll #InvestForGood #ImpactDriven

Our key takeaways from The ESG Factory in Berlin! We were delighted to be the Global Conference Partner for this event covering the evolving world of ESG in real estate organised by RUECKERCONSULT GmbH! Here are our highlights: ⚡ Energy storage is revolutionising the energy transition. Rapid advancements in both mobile and stationary storage systems are driving greater capacity and performance while significantly reducing costs—making clean energy more efficient and accessible than ever. 🌱 Major changes are coming to the SFDR classification of property funds. The EU Commission is considering a new category to facilitate the transition of assets from brown to green, reshaping how sustainability is defined and measured in real estate investments. 💡 Smart building technology remains an untapped opportunity. Many property managers still struggle with automation and efficiency, yet regulatory shifts and easy-to-implement optimisations offer immediate gains in sustainability and cost savings. 🏢 Climate resilience is now a critical priority at the asset level. With heavy rainfall posing the greatest natural threat to buildings, securing insurance while it’s still available is only part of the solution - proactive protection measures are essential. 🌍 ESG is evolving, and so is the approach. While sustainability goals remain crucial, a more pragmatic and flexible mindset is needed to balance ambition with practical implementation. We are looking forward to continue to being part of the solution and finding answers to challenges at large. We hope to see you in Berlin next year! #realestate #ESG #ESGFactory #sustainability Alexander Roth Kathrin Michalzik Norbert Stangelmayer Konstantin Ratzinger Lucas Schnetzer Diez Christian Behrend, CIIA, CREA Marcus Schwarzenberg MRICS Tim Ulrich Nicola Murray

The LGPS Housing with Impact roundtable was a great success. Our key takeaways: 🔹 LGPS and institutional investors can potentially play a transformative role in addressing the UK housing crisis and contribute to the well-being of people in the UK 🔹 We believe local investment and place making through LGPS funding can deliver a positive impact for local communities, however, delivery of such projects pose real challenges in achieving fund returns for underlying investors. Local sourcing capabilities and access to robust local supply chain partners will be key. 🔹 As LGPS funds reach maturity, income return is becoming increasingly important and is driving the need for index-linked investment; something that investment into Affordable Housing tenures can potentially deliver. 🔹 We believe “Additionality” of housing should consider the development of new Affordable Homes which will enable Housing Associations to fund their own developments 🔹 Importantly, it should also include the new supply of all tenure types to increase and accelerate delivery of new affordable housing, for example through urban extensions to master developer schemes. 🔹 By targeting financial returns alongside social objectives, LGPS and institutional investors have the potential to significantly contribute to alleviating the housing crisis while generating sustainable growth and long-term benefits for their members and society. #housingwithimpact #housing #impactinvesting #lgps #affordablehousing #savillsim
We strive to develop real estate investment strategies that enable people, communities and eco-systems to thrive. The Living sector is a key conviction for Savills IM and particularly on delivering housing with social impact because we believe it: 🔹Builds resilient communities 🔹Drives local economic growth 🔹Promotes sustainability 🔹Empowers individuals We are delighted to be sponsoring the LGPS UK Housing with Impact round table. Dominic Curtis and Lucy Williams will be attending on behalf of Savills IM. #housingwithimpact #housing #impactinvesting #lgps #affordablehousing #sustinableinvesting #savillsim

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College to our London office for a workplace visit. It was a great opportunity for them to get a real insight into the world of investment management, as part of our ongoing partnership with Investment20/20. The day started with a warm welcome from Louis Cobben and Maggie McQuaid MRICS, followed by a tour of the office. The students also got to meet our current and former trainees – Keren Speed, Caitlin Banks, Faheem Hure, Michael Adjei, Genevieve Martin, Bodhana Kolla, and Francesca Cardigan – who shared their experiences and advice. Lucy Williams and Victoria Morrison ran an interactive session on property investments, giving the students hands-on experience and helping them understand more about the field. A big thank you to all the volunteers who shared their time and stories – it really made an impact and encouraged the students to think about a career in investment management. We’re looking forward to continuing our partnership with Investment20/20 and working with their students again soon. A special thanks to Keren Speed and Caitlin Banks for organising such a fantastic day!
